Comfy minimal racing saddle
Review of Selle Italia Flite by lobster303

Advantages: If it suits you it's light, comfy and looks great
Disadvantages: if it doesn't riding 10 miles will feel like 1000

Well I have three of these on my bikes so I obviously fall into the catogory of someone whose shape suits this saddle. This is definitely a saddle for racing bikes either on road or off. There are compromises in the design:- Could be lighter Could be more comfy Could be cheaper It isn't but it is very good at what it does. The best way to look at the compromises is to compare the Flite to other saddles that are lighter/more comfy/cheaper. Any ...
...expensive or like a razer blade to sit on or both of these. More comfy like a Rolls for instance and the weight penalty will be 2 or 3 times the Flites weight. The cost for a performance racing part (with titanium seat rails) is more than acceptable, cheaper definitly means heavier in this case. The titanium rails of course will last forever without corroding or discolouring, the leather cover being exposed to weather will eventually wear after ... Read review

Flite kevlar, better than the standard leather?
Review of Selle Italia Flite Alpes FKS full Kevlar by chrisradband

Advantages: comfortable, performance, good looks...
Disadvantages: kevlar damages shorts? uncomfortable?

...be clear, the differences between Selle Italia's range of Flite asddles is pretty small in general. You pick your material; leather or kevlar and then you pick the standard shape or the Alpe which is a little more cut off at the back which makes it fractionally lighter and a little easier to move your weight over the back of the wheel when on steep descents etc. There is one obvious disadvantage to this saddle and that is that the shape might not ...
...some getting used to. Another disadvantage which I've discovered through use was that some of my shorts (including lycra) seemed to bobble a little which became rally annoying and made the shorts look cheap and almost 'naff' whilst I don’t think the kevlar pannels actually gained me any grip or helped the longevity of the saddle over the standard leather versions. On the other hand, there are many advantages to this saddle, one of which is the fact ... Read review

Flite kevlar, better than the standard leather?
Review of Selle Italia Flite Kevlar by chrisradband

Advantages: comfortable, performance, good looks...
Disadvantages: kevlar damages shors? uncomfortable?

The Flite titanium saddle and its previous incarnations have been my choice of saddle for around the last eight years on some of my mountain bikes. There is one obvious disadvantage to this saddle and that is that the shape might not be to everyone’s liking, its pretty small and does take some getting used to. Another disadvantage which I've discovered through use was that some of my shorts (including lycra) seemed to bobble a little which became ...

On the other hand, there are many advantages to this saddle, one of which is the fact that now I’m used to it I find it perfectly comfortable. Main advantages have to include the fact that it is so light weight at just about 200g, the fact that it is really long lasting even when used in the foulest ... Read review

...so light weight at just about 200g, the fact that it is really long lasting even when used in the foulest of conditions and also the fact that it looks so sleek and would look fantastic on any bike. I’d highly recommend this saddle to anyone so long as they’re prepared to give it some time to mould to your body! ... Read review
