If you are at all familiar with the previous model of salomon agressive skates then you will know that not much has changed appearance-wise with these new beauties. Keeping with the individual boot mould, they have chosen to beef up the specifications of the skate instead. ... ...This is a move by salomon to forge the way forward with frane standardisation, making the frane marjet more competitive, resulting in more compatibility therefore better prices for consumers.
On the grind the soul was impressively fast, having had a pair of K2 250's on my feet about 3 minutes earlier i would even venture far enough tp say they equalled the speed of the K2's, and on some variations (alley-oop soul in particular) they felt faster. ... more
okay the Salomon Feinberg pro-model. Well i guess if your reading this then you know who the hell aaron feinberg is huh? well like him or not, hes got a pro-skate. If you are at all familiar with the previous model of salomon agressive skates then you will know that not much has changed appearance-wise with these new beauties. Keeping with the individual boot mould, they have chosen to beef up the specifications of the skate instead. So here is whats new on these new blades. THE UFS SYSTEM FRAME. now the soul plate is a seperate piece that attatches onto the frame. This is a move by salomon to forge the way forward with frane standardisation, making the frane marjet more competitive, resulting in more compatibility therefore better prices for consumers. On the grind the soul was impressively fast, having had a pair of K2 250's on my feet about 3 minutes earlier i would even venture far enough tp say they equalled the speed of the K2's, and on some variations (alley-oop soul in particular) they felt faster. HOwever they still manage to maintain a good amount opf speed control, not slipping out too much. The shock absorber is still the same type, but as the sayin goes, "if it aint broke, dont fix it" and is still what i beieve to be one of the best on the market. The wheels are mindgame-poured Salomon pro wheels. THey glide smooth and fast, but are not the best wheels wear-wise. Making the wheels turn are fast gliding abec5 bearings. mmmmm.....nice! boy are they fast! The liner has been slightly beefed up, and neoprene fitted in the harder wearing parts of the liner. THis combined woth the wonderful shock absorber definetly puts in strong contention for one of the most comfortable skate on the market. After skating USD, Roces Khuti and K2 in the last year, i would have to say i am very happy on salomons at the moment. A great fast crusing park skate, at a great price (£169.99)
Advantages: UFS, long lasting, cheap. Disadvantages: ?
The Salomon st10 is one of the new range of UFS (Universal Frame System) skates released by Salomon just before Christmas 2001. The st10 is the budget skate which they say as aimed at beginner to intermediate skaters and they cost £140.
Looking at the skate there don't seem to be many differences between these and the previously released Feinburgs other than the colours and the wheel set-up. The skates come with a nice looking blue cuff and liner, white soul plates and black salomon UFS frames. The salomon liner is one of the most comfortable and long lasting liners around. The liner features coolfit so once you've worn them a few times the mold to the shape of your feet making them much more comfortable.
The wheel set-up features a nice fast rolling set-up of salomons own ST 56mm/88a wheels with a nice set of ABEC 3 bearings ...
