Salomon Perf. Prolink Eq. 9.0

Advantages: Good looks, great price, great overall performance.
Disadvantages: Only available in one size (8.5 UK).

...Last year (2000) Salomon announced the release of two new skates, the ST90 and the ST80. For some reason Salomon decided to scrap production of the ST80 and released the ST70 (a cheaper model) instead. Last summer Salomon decided to sell off all of there sample models of the ST80 so now these samples are available. Since these are sample skates they were only ever made in one size (uk 8.5) so if this size is too large or too small for you then forget about buying these skates as riding wrongly sized skates can be detrimental to the health of your feet. Out of the box these skates look amazing. The cool blue-grey colour used for the boot is definitely the most aesthetically pleasing of on any of the recent Salomon skates. Advantages: Look cool, roll really smooth
Disadvantages: stock frames and soul plates are a bit slow

...I love these skates. They skate really similar to all the old Salomons except, they are much more comfortable and look much cooler. They wheels and bearings are really smooth and the frames and soul plates can now be exchanged for other companies products (UFS frames, Mecanizm Wings, etc.). The STI's still have the heel shock absorber,but now they also feature a full length shock absorber on top of this. They still have the custom fit liners which can be moulded to the shape of your foot for a perfect fit. Basically I love these skates and if you even liked the old Salomon skates you?ll love these too. They are just like the old ones but improved in so many ways. Buy them now.... Read review

Advantages: Ease of turning, handling, style, following.
Disadvantages: None I can think of.

...I go to Sandown ski club ever week, and I always try to get the Salomon X-Screams. They are incredibly easy to turn, have a nice carving action, and are probably one of the best skis around. They have a huge free-ride following, and are used by beginners and experts alike. They are the skis by which all others are judged. The newer X-screams have the Prolink arms 'to guarantee ski/snow contact'. Wether it actually works is another matter... but it sounds and looks cool! So basically, these skis will suit anyone, especially those who are looking to improve their turning and confidence, and want to learn how to carve easily. Excellent skis!... Read review
