Suunto Mosquito diving wrist diving computer
Advantages: very easy to read underwater Disadvantages: battery life not very good
...6 months, but the battery change is not too expensive to replace. It is always recommended that you have the battery changed by a Suunto dealer who will also provide a limited guarantee that it has been pressure tested.
The Suunto Mosquito is now being replaced by the Suunto D4 ...

It is all on the wrist
Advantages: Small with a clear display Disadvantages: Bit pricey.
...one of which was the Suunto D6 dive computer which at a retail price of £470 is a pretty decent prize to win. I was tempted to sell it straight on as I already have a dive computer which I'm really happy with and that meets my diving needs as it has two gas settings for when I dive with Nitrox gas. However the benefit of the Suunto was that it is a small watch style computer and therefore would be slightly lighter and less bulky when travelling abroad ... ...is to always factor in potential kit failure and have a back up I decided to keep it and boy am I glad that I did.
Basically the D6 is the same as the D9 however it does not have the radio linked receiver that is used to calculate the remaining gas time from a transmitter that is attached to your tanks. I have never really bought into using this device being quite happy to rely on the standard pressure gauge that has served divers for decades and ...

Come dive with me.
Advantages: Very nice display. Batteries last ages. Case is blue.(Gotta be a plus!) Disadvantages: Batteries not user changeable.
I have dived on my Air X Nitrox for about five years now and still think that it is one of the best computers for beginner divers. The large screen displays are well laid out with the dive data on the upper screen and information on whatever you are breathing on a lower screen. This information is constantly updated from a radio transmitter mounted onto your first stage. I found that this was a little bulky when first screwing it into the first stage ... ...hose because this information is relayed to me straight to the computer. My dive kit, with a single cylinder now requires only a hose to my drysuit, one to my main DV and a hose to my BCD. The BCD 'controls' offer me an alternate air source, this lack of 'bulk' is brilliant when I am doing training dives because it keeps everything neat and stowed. Once you have got used to all the different alarm sounds you hardly have to look at the computer at ...

SUUNTO "GEKKO" DIVE COMPUTOR
After getting into scuba diving this was the first piece of equipment that I purchased. I bought it at Male airport in the Maldives for £130 about 15 months ago.
Description
The "Gekko" is an ideal choice for divers who do not require PC interface or simulation features. The "Gekko" is suitable for both air and nitrox and is designed to give specifics of any diving situation including decompression at a glance. Both ... ...clear, colour coded indicators. A feature which I really like is the visual and audio alarms given when necessary. Maximum depth and dive time alarms can be enabled too.
It's extremely simple to operate with easy to use buttons and a straightforward menu. It also has an extensive logbook which stores up to 50 hours of dive profiles & logbook data, including dive start time, date, dive time and maximum depth attained. It should keep the keenest of ...

The only dive computer you will ever need
Advantages: Does the lot. Disadvantages: Not a lot.
...visited the old premises of Delta P Technology in Wimborne, Dorset, upon the premise of buying one directly. I met Philippa (who had just given me a frightfully hard stare for obstructing her spot in the car-park, which was my fault entirely and not a problem really) and Kev, the proprietor of Delta P Technology. Both were very helpful. I also met the author of the software, Matt, who spared me some of his time to demonstrate it on a PC, which the ... ...or products can be improved. Delta P’s appeared to have done it. The new VR3, like its predecessor, also has the CCR O2 sensor port option, which I intend to look at in the future. I know of many CCR divers have asked for computer integration with rebreathers and this one neatly bridges the gap. The computer, in effect, will be able to sense what you’re breathing. This makes its decompression calculations that bit more precise.
