A sound and reasonable camera

Advantages: A great camera for someone to just jump in the water and have a go with
Disadvantages: You will outgrow the camera especially if you move beyong the novice level

This was the first underwater camera I bought, and I did so at a time when I actually knew nothing about underwater photography, but just had an urge to go and do it. The MX10 in my opinion turned out to be a great camera for someone like myself who knew very little about the subject. It's easy to use and the only thing you have to remember with the camera (like any other underwater photography is to get as close to your subject as possible), is to guess you distance and set the exposure setting accordingly. Then it's just a case of pointing and shooting. I took the MX10 with me to Eygpt, States and the far East, and it's light enough to keep in your hand luggage. The next great thing about the MX10 is that not only is it easy to use and light to carry around, but you can buy a variety of lenses for Macro and Micro photography ...

Review of Sea & Sea MX-10 Camera

Besides the sea

Advantages: "We joined the navy to see the world?."
Disadvantages: "And what did we see? We saw the sea." (Irving Berlin)

?I must go down to the seas again, To the lonely sea and the sky.? (John Masefield) Never fear; I?m not about to start waxing lyrical about the sea. I?m more in the Irving Berlin camp than in the Masefield. I quote the lines above to illustrate the fact that even the most feverish of fanatics for the sea has to admit that maritime views are limited, consisting as they do of just two lonely elements: water and sky. And it?s stretching a point to include the sky, which can equally be seen above land as above sea. So, essentially, we?re talking about water. Water, it might be argued, is not entirely monotonous to look at. The sea has moods, which it expresses in the colour of its complexion. Sometimes, it can be a tranquil turquoise, sometimes an inscrutable indigo, sometimes a grudging greeny-grey. Occasionally, it rears ...

Review of Where is the best sea view?

The Canon 10-20mm EF-S lens, perfect for landscapes.

Advantages: Excellent quality pictures, Useful wide angle range. Good build quality.
Disadvantages: No lens hood, Not compatible with all EOS cameras

, and with its USM motor it is very quiet in use. There is no image stabilizer on this lens, but unlike telephoto lenses there is little need for it on a wide-angle lens, as camera shake is not usually a problem in daylight or flash operation, camera shake would occur in low light situations, such as in night shots when you would need to use a slow shutter speed, but you would want to use a tripod in those circumstances anyway. All movements of the elements in this lens whilst focusing and zooming are internal, so the lens does not extend causing a difference in handling. What is it like to use? When I first got this lens I was amazed at the wide field of view especially at the 10mm end of the focal range, when you look through the viewfinder at a nearby object, it looks very small and far away, when out in the country you can get ...
