...Having owned 2 wintec saddles, I can't emphasise enough the greatest factor of all - not having to use saddle soap!!! With any style or model of wintec all you have to do to clean them is to just wash them over with the hose pipe!!! The first model wintec that I had was made of a gel type substance that in fact had no tree in it, so was impossible to break!! and because of being made of gel was less likely to cause any pressure points, as I am now breaking in my youngster this saddle is absolutely ideal for that job!! So i bought my other mare a new wintec, the syle that looks just like leather, and being reasonably priced at around £350 I reckon they are great value, you wouldn't pick up a decent leather saddle for that price. Advantages: great looking, light weight and comfortable

...The Flite titanium saddle and its previous incarnations have been my choice of saddle for around the last eight years on some of my mountain bikes. There is one obvious disadvantage to this saddle and that is that the shape might not be to everyone’s liking, its pretty small and does take some getting used to. On the other hand, there are many advantages to this saddle, one of which is the fact that now I’m used to it I find it perfectly comfortable. Main advantages have to include the fact that it is so light weight at just about 200g, the fact that it is really long lasting even when used in the foulest of conditions and also the fact that it looks so sleek and would look fantastic on any bike. Advantages: Easy to use and wash.

...standing still to be mounted, they are used to leg up and away. This made it more difficult to ascertain whether his back was a problem. After a while he did learn to stand perfectly by the mounting block but would sometimes hunch his back or buck up the drive. He was not the type of horse to buck and it was always with a thinner numnah. As he did not like thinner numnahs I spent loads of money trying to rectify the problem. I tried a gel pad between the saddle and the thinner numnah. This was fine and he seemed very comfortable but a lot of hassle to put on. Not only did I have the girth straps to contend with but trying to keep this gel pad in place when putting it on was almost impossible. Gel pads weigh a tonne!! (slight exageration there).
