Advantages: Protection from breaks and increased control Disadvantages: Can be a bit strange at first if not used to fingersaves but easy to adapt to!
I thought I would write this review as I have had a great experience with this product. I'm no professional, though play football at a respectable level and consider myself to be a promising young goalkeeper.
I had never bothered with fingersave gloves before I broke my index finger in a game last year. I decided following it's recovery that I should invest in a pair of fingersave gloves. I must admit I had my reservations about these in particular with respect to mobility. I thought the bending of the fingers would be restricted too much but I was wrong.
I invested in a pair of these and they have been brilliant, no problems whatsoever. If there is anyone out there not wearing fingersave gloves, then invest in a pair, because you only need to break a finger that refuses to heal properly and you've got problems. These gloves ...
Advantages: Stunning looks, very comfortable. Disadvantages: Very poor grip
Since being young I have been borderline obsessed with goalkeepergloves. In my late teens and early 20's I was buying up to 8 pairs of gloves a season. Outrageous, yes maybe, but I was hooked with the feel and optimism that a new pair of gloves would bring. My mates bought boots by the, er, boot load, I however always opted for gloves.
Imagine then my disappointment with this purchase. They look the absolute part, having an excellent colour scheme and that massive Nike tick, reassurance usually of a well-made product. I fell for these gloves immediately and parted with something in the region of £65 for them. I had made a mistake.
The main problem with these gloves is the foam. 4mm latex palms are what you would expect from professional quality gloves, but by my own admission the SGT technology was an intriguing concept ...
Advantages: Great all rounder Disadvantages: No thumb guard
, and the grip was very good until the point of failure. The support provided to the hand by the spines was quite comprehensive, even if it did lack a thumb guard. One of the best innovative features, though, was the 9mm wrap around wrist bandage, that, whilst uncomfortable when new provides total support to the wrist and minimises chance of injury.
Overall:
I was very pleased with this glove, the only possible improvement being a thumb guard (some people find this restrictive.) These gloves can be purchased at prodirectsoccer.com for around £55, although I now have the 2nd generation glove, the AdhesionUltraGuard, which incorporates a thumb guard and is the same price. ...
