Advantages Responsive feel and touch on the ball, protection in all weather, well designed.
Disadvantages Price may put some off.
Selsport are well known for their football gloves and clothing and accessories ranges. The Wrappa range of goalkeeper gloves has been around since 1998 and each of the five models (Aqua, Classic, Protect FP< Phantom and Negative Surround) have their own qualities. I have personally owned the Selsport Wrappa 'Classic' design for around a year now and have used them fairly regularly for an hour or two at a time. Wearing goalkeeper gloves for long periods of time can be a real pain, but the Selsport Wrappa Calssic's make the experience all the more bearable.
The 'Classic' design is suitable for the whole range of conditions, whether you wish to use them indoors or during the driving rain of the British weather. performance is never effected due to weather conditions and so they are a very versatile pair of gloves. The gloves are made from Latex and Selsport have introduced 'Giga Grip' technology which aides the wearer in wet conditions by creating a chemical reaction within the Latex to increase effectiveness of the grip and also helping the lifespan of the gloves. The back of the gloves are finished in a grooved Latex which offers grip when punching the ball and also gives additional flexibility when clenching the fist. The Selsport Wrappa Classic's also have a unique three point wrist strap which offers greater protection and support to the wrist than their previous models. The image of the gloves is also a major selling point for consumers of sports goods and I would say the Selsport Wrappa range won't be losing any fans with the clean lines of the Classic design. The Selsport logo and branding is all over the back of the gloves and on the unique wrist strap. The gloves are completely white with the black Selsport detailing on them. There is one small area of red on the wrist strap but it would be wrong to suggest these gloves are subtle in any way! Wearing the gloves is a pleasure, with their comfortable feel. Hands will always begin to feel sweaty after prolonged periods of wear, but with the Selsport Classic's I find my hands will withstand longer periods of wear without discomfort. The feel of the ball in the gloves is a key aspect for anyone looking to buy new gloves, and with this pair I am reassured by both the protection against impact and the accurate touch of the ball.
Available for around the £50 mark they are reasonably well priced and as they are still appearing to offer to last me for many months/years yet, I would say they are a product built to last.
