Advantages: Your a pro if you wear these v. strong good mud clearance, breathable, (look good!) Disadvantages: Expensive - and you can't realy walk far in them.

Always buy a strong base when you buy any SPD shoe if the guy (or gal) tells you to buy a shoe that when you pick up is bendable in the middle, ... ...good power transfer. If your just starting you maybe tempted to stick with a soft shoe after all that’s what you’ve been riding in for years anyway. Challenge your self you wont be disappointed the shoes will last longer and give your feet more protection.
