Speed Triple

Advantages: Excellent Handling & looks
Disadvantages: Finnish

I bought a speed Triple in May 2005 -Brand new from my local Triumph dealer (Woods of Abergele ) A dealer which I only have praise for as the service has been excellent The Model i went for was the special edition with an all black frame and wheels - the extras such as the fly screen , belly pan and Radiator cowls all came fitted as standard I have covered 2500 miles so far this year and been to a few rallies / events on it Performance -After the running in period and first service the engine seemed to loosen up a bit (first service the semi synthetic oil gets changed for fully synth .) I have fitted a High level carbon can and had the fuel injection remapped The bike sounds much better than standard with a nice howl from the 3 cylinders the performance is good with plenty of midrange grunt if you liek to pop wheelies this ...

M532 Chainset + external Bottom Bracket

Advantages: built in external BB, good quality
Disadvantages: None

I bought this to replace the SR Suntour cranks and stock Shimano Bottom Bracket on my Trek 4300. A fantastic upgrade, extremely sturdy, nice stiff cranks, excellent machine work. And to top it off, no internal Bottom Bracket is needed. Something I dont think a lot of the adverts for the item make enough of. You don't need to bother measuring your spindle as you just need to remove the entire bottom bracket and fit the M532 with the inbuilt external BB. You will need additional tools to fit this, but they can be picked up relatively cheaply and you never need to worry about wearing out any bearings in the bottom bracket again. It took me 15 minutes to fit, simply remove your old cranks, remove the BB and slot this in place. It comes with various spacers to adjust the width depending on your frame size and once fitted it ...

Review of Shimano M532 Deore 2 Piece Design Chainset, 9-Speed - 44/32/22T

Shimano Dura Ace Rear Mech (RD-7700-SS)

Advantages: Top of the range "bling" rear mech
Disadvantages: 9 speed "only", superceeded by RD-7800 10-speed version

= easier pedalling, smaller cog = faster. Specifications: - 8/9-speed - Max. Sprocket (what's the biggest rear cog this mech can handle ?) 27 teeth - Min. Sprocket (what's the smallest rear cog this mech can handle ?) 11 teeth - Front Difference 14 teeth max - that's a maximum difference between the number of teeth on the big and small from chainrings, ie a 53 teeth "big" ring and 39 teeth small one will work fine, but won't work with a triple chainset - Total Capacity 29T (that's the difference between teh big and small REAR gogs PLUS the difference between the big and small fromt chainrings) - 11 tooth guide / tension (top/bottom) pulleys with sealed bearings reduce friction, run quieter and wear longer due to alternating tooth contact between inner and outer chain plates. - Weight 195g Setting it up was very simple, as ...
