Advantages: Secure and Comfy Disadvantages: Bulky and Expensive
...These slazenger batting gloves have all the technology here to keep those precious fingers protected. They have the new Hex Tech Impact protection panels (although I think these might be more of a marketing aspect than actually do anything, but they look good though!). Fibre inserts into the padding, as well as Slazenger's Air Flow system which helps to maintain that all important secure grip. A very comfy glove with sheep skin palms, as well as a two piece thumb for increased flexibility. Overall a very secure and comfortable glove, but it comes at a price selling at around £50 in the shops. Worth buying if your a serious cricketer, but to bulky and expensive for your local village team....

Advantages: Two double width straps Disadvantages: No instep protection
...The SlazengerSelect Test pads are a good alternative for anybody looking for a fairly inexpensive pair of batting pads with the general comfort of a quality pair of batting pads but without the price tag. These pads usually retail around the £39.99 mark, but many wholesalers such as Morrant, Romida or Bourne are likely to have them for closer to £30.
I used a set of these, which I had borrowed off a friend, for the indoor season (I play a lot of indoor cricket in Austria) and was very impressed with them. Pads have improved immeasurably, in the 15 years that I have been playing cricket, with buckles being replaced by Velcro fastenings, which can allow you to get the tightness of the pads more accurately. As regards the straps of these pads, they were great, with the bottom (ankle) and the middle (shin) straps being both 2 inches wide...

Advantages: good straps Disadvantages: none yet
...the pads are good for a person who is just starting up playing for a team they have quite good comfort which i was not expecting i have been bowled at them from a few fast bowlers who i play with and they all say about the same they are good for a person strarting up.
when i used the pads for the first time they felt quite good on you which i was expecting as my old pair was like that i only really used them in the indoor areana as i wear my grey niccols when playing outside they fell just like newburys or puma.
my overall vision of them is they are good for first time players and players who may just play odd times each season the one good thing with them is the buckles been quite broad.
i hope i get my new gear before the english season starts i have bought a full puma set so once i get my puma gear i will comment on it....
