Vango Nitestar Baby
Review of Vango Nitestar Baby by TartanDoll64

Advantages: Good first sleeping bag!
Disadvantages: None really

We took our 10 month old son camping in the UK for the first time a couple of years ago in August, and again the following summer, and we used this baby sleeping bag. It was nice and cosy and kept him warm through the night. Unfortunately he was too tall for it last summer - so we got him a Nitestar Midi bag instead. I would definitely recommend it for those taking their babies and young toddlers camping. It can get quite cool at night, even in summer, ... Read review

Does exactly what it says
Review of Mountain Equipment Firewalker Ultralight by andyyaris

Advantages: Warm, light, packs down well
Disadvantages: None really

Let start with the basics, I bought this virtually blind, seeing what looked good on web sites. and i bought a peach. It does exactly what it says on the tin (or bag). It is very light indeed packs down to the size of a rugby ball, It keeps me perfectly warm to just above freezing and i have bought a fleece liner which take me down to about 0. people without as much meant on their bnes as me might find they get colder a little earlier. I have droped ...
...being hung off my ruksac and hiking around it was perfectly dry, a 15-20 degree heat in a pleasent April day. I have a slight rip in the interior, not sure how it occured, but easily stiched up, probably not the fault of the quality of the bag. the lining does not move around . You will need a good quality roll mat as it is very thin the the cold easily transfers from the ground sheet, into you. A good practical buy, quite simple, good make and ... Read review

Good out of car camping sleeping bag
Review of Vango Nitestar 350 Sleeping Bag by andyyaris

Advantages: Warm and good price
Disadvantages: Bulky and heavy

I bought this as i needed a warm winter sleeping bag for some out of car camping and it is ideal. It is basically a duvet with a nylon outercoating. I am a very warm person and can often use the extreame guidence as my comfort zone regarding the temperature. Recently I was camping in the peak distict (middle of Novemeber) the temperature went down to -4c and I was as warm as toast. I have lent it to friends of mine who hs started to get cold at ...
...the bag. It is very comfortable inside, you cannot feel any seams or the zip, the hood fits nicely over you head without blocking your face and generally has a lot of room inside (im 6'1 and 16 stone). It has a nice soft feel inside and a general feeling of quality I do a lot of backpacking type camping all over the country in winter and summer and this bag is not designed for that, it is heavy and bulky, and i wouldnt like to have to dry it out ... Value for money and durable
Review of Snugpak Softie 6 Kestrel by alimason

Advantages: Durable, light, small
Disadvantages: not good in colder conditions, other bags are smaller

I've had this bag for about 5 years now and it has really withstanded the wear and tear it has come under: More than 25 weekends sleeping on bare ground, a month long expedition in south america and several bunkhouse trips. In that 5 years it has kept me remarkably warm. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone planning to sleep in temperatures around 0 degrees (C) as unlike the manufactures rating of extreme -5 i would say it is more like 0. It has also ...
...indoors, where the full length zip can easily be undone and the fact that there are 2 zippers on one zip means you can easily get some air to your feet whilst keeping your shoulders warm. The drawstring is another good feature as on those colder nights it ensures your shoulders remain covered. However the best aspect of theis bag is its size, it packs down to a really small size and in comparison to other synthetic bags it is tiny and weighs very ... Read review

Vango Nitestar Convertible Sleeping Bag
Review of Vango Nitestar Convertible by Miaow123

Advantages: Converts from small to large as your child grows!
Disadvantages: It can't make the sun shine when you're camping!!

Ideal for camping with small children - the bottom zips off and a circular piece zips on to create a proper \'foot\' for small children and as they grow you can zip the bottom section back on. Whilst the bottom is zipped off, you can use it to store the rest of the sleeping bag in, although there is a separate stuff (compression) sack as well. There is a left and a right hand zip so it\'s easy to get your child in and out of the sleeping bag. The ... Read review
