I bought one of these belts direct from Slendertone about 4 weeks ago. The idea was to trim up a flabby, 4 times stomach surgery belly, along with a good diet and other exercise - I hate those abtoner things. I didn't expect miracles but I needed help. £150 was a lot to pay, but hey, you've got to try it. There are two types of belt, one for men and one for women. The belt straps round your abdomen, with three gel like pads attached. A small power unit then makes the pads vibrate, and exercise those muscles. The first time felt a little uncomfortable, but now I'm used to it. Occassionally the unit beeps at me, and I need to adjust the belt to make sure that pads are attached properly. Flex those muscles

Advantages: No trailing wires, discreet, easy and quick to put on
Disadvantages: bit expensive

The Slendertone flex is the latest in slendertone's range of faradic exercisers. The one I have is for the abdominals although they also now have a flex for the bum and thighs which you wear like a pair of shorts. The tummy one is great. I have had 5 children and a bad back so the usual round of sit ups and crunches are no longer feasible for me. I have previously had the earlier ones with pads and trailing wires, but frankly they are a pain in the neck (should that be stomach!) to set up.Initially I was put off buying this product by the cost. Mine was £145 although I think they vary a bit. However, I watched a really good demo on QVC and that convinced me to spend the money! Slendertone Abs Toning Belt really works!!

Advantages: No batteries required
Disadvantages: None

I bought this Abs system as an upgrade from the Flex belt I bought a few years ago. This system is such an improvement in the fact that if you are already pretty toned you can go on a programme for maximum strength to really get maximum results. It can be adapted using the strength controls for any type of user, experienced or not. When used whilst doing exercise, for example, walking you can feel it works even more. However, can be used whilst just sitting down and watching TV. You can tuck the system controller into the belt so it's out of the way whilst working out. Also, you can re-charge this system rathen than using batteries I will be happily using this product for years to come! ...
