It must have been the snow and the cold weather but when I woke up this morning I had a wicked sore throat and blocked nose so on my way to work the first stop was to buy two packets of honey and lemon lockets. There is a recommended dosage which I will get to later but I find that two packets for a day works quite well.
Lockets are my favourite throat sweets by far as I find they really help.
Lockets are made by the Mars corporation. They are sold in distinctive yellow packets with 10 sweets in each packet.
Each sweet is then individually wrapped. The sweet itself is a hard, boiled type sweet. It is rather sticky on the outside. The best bit about Lockets is the soothing centre filled with honey and lemon. It's quite syrupy and is probably about a pea sized amount, if a tiny bit bigger. Advantages: Helps Soothe A Sore Throat Disadvantages: Expensive, Bitter Taste
As promised hot on the heels of my last review on Tunes I now turn my attention to Lockets, another throat lozenge from my childhood. For those of you who have not read my previous two reviews on Tunes and Lemsip Max Strength Lemon Drink I will begin by saying that I am still suffering from the dreaded Common Cold and I am still sat here sniffling away and feeling generally fed up with myself.
The lockets beside me were purchased for the sum of 54p from my local Spar and are the original Honey & Lemon variety.
The Product
Lockets are sold in a yellow coloured tube which contains 10 individual lozenges, each wrapped in paper for freshness. There are several different flavours available including Blackcurrant & Lemon and Extra Strong Eucalyptus. I have tried both of these other varieties in the past but it's been a good few years ...

Advantages: They really do ease a sore throat and snotty nose, availability Disadvantages: They don't taste too good!
I woke up this morning and before I was even properly awake I realised I'm suffering from the worst cold of my life. I ache all over, my head hurts and my throat feels like I've given it the benefit of drinking a pint of acid. Nurofen and a hot shower this morning relieved the horrible aches and pains but painkillers just don't touch a sore throat when I get one. So on the way back from school I grabbed a couple of packets of Lockets to hopefully soothe my red raw throat, it's not often I eat these because I like my sweets to taste of something nice really and however much they declare themselves to be 'great tasting' they always taste very medicinal to me.
You can now buy Lockets in a variety of different flavours, all of which have a unique way of combating a sore throat and stuffy nose, but today I've opted for the traditional ...
