Lets Ride
Advantages: Support, Comfort, Looks Disadvantages: None that I can think of
As a skiier who has caught the snowboarding bug, I knew that if I bought anything before i went away to Italy it would be boots, as my experiences of hire shops have been less than successful (I have size 13 feet).
After reading various articles in magazines I went shopping with an open mind and tried a variety of boots from different makes, as fit, not the name, was my number 1 goal. The Orion boots at first had a tight fit, but i was told that ... ...whilst riding was exellent, they had a firm flex and there was hardly any heel lift, due to a good lace up liner which anchored into the boot very well. The boot was very comfy, once again down to the boots great liner and outer construction. The outer boot was very warm and waterproof, even in deep powder. On a final note, the boots also looked good, not like some which look like lace up wellies, Bonus! ...

Not your average boot
Advantages: Comfort, speed lacing, nice design Disadvantages: None
...day when you go snowboarding. Burton technology has changed a lot; they have on most of them "speadzone lacing". Instead of having laces, you have two pulls, the idea is when they boots start to loose up, you just give these a pull and they tighten the boots for you. They work really well. One is for the bottom, over the toes, and the other is for the top around the ankle area. These boots are designed for beginners as they have a soft flex. This ... ...responsive they are. When you are a beginner you don't want this. As with every movement you make, it will be felt in the boot and your boot will move in that direction. (This might sound strange, but it's your feet that controls the board) So soft boots allows you to control foot movements to you purposely make.
These are a fantastic pair of boots for beginners that are not expensive at all. I would recommend going to a shop see if they fit, as ...

The best board ive hired
Advantages: flex, responsivness Disadvantages: none
I hired this board last season and i was not disappointed!
The Look:
The one i hired and rode for a week was black and has graphics around the stomp pads. The designs of these boards change depending on the size so the one i had may well be different to the one someone of a different size or build will receive. They all however, look sleek and sexy, and you will not be ashamed to put it up against other more expensive boards!
The Park use:
I ... ...i was not disappointed! It has an amazing flex and was a joy to ride. It was incredibly responsive and turned when instructed. It was light which meant that although i am small i was able to easily pull off jumps and tricks.
The Mountain use:
This board carved through all kinds of runs ranging from blues to blacks and in every terrain it exceeded my expectations by miles. It is incredibly responsive making it not only an exciting ride but also ...

Heaven is a pair of Griffons
Advantages: The great fit of Intuition liners Disadvantages: They're a wee bit ugly
Ask a snowboarder whether they’ve got comfy boots and he or she will probably groan and whip off a sock to reveal some stunning blister scars.
Yes, I’ve been to boot hell and back too but, finally, all that has changed. I’ve joined the smug minority who lace up their boots in the morning and never give them a second thought during a day on the mountain. And it’s all thanks to ThirtyTwo’s Griffons.
I spent nearly three ... ...to be the boot footwear of choice there. Lots of the instructors and pros (both male and female) had them - usually a pretty good sign of a quality product. Griffons are a bit garish to look at - last season’s were blue, yellow and orange. But they’re tall, pretty stiff and very supportive. With Intuition liners which are heat moulded to your feet, it’s easy to get a good fit. The only thing to remember about buying boots with Intuition ...

Burton Moto
Advantages: Cheap, nice looking, warm and comfortable Disadvantages: not as comfortable, warm or water proof as a more expensive burton boot.
...many of the features that Burton offers on more expensive boots. I bought these as "my first boots" and rode them for a whole season. Aprox 100days riding with no problems what so ever. Would 100% reccomend them to anyone who wants cheap beginner - intermediate boots. I've since upgraded to a more expensive boot which is better but i really cant think of anything bad to say about the Moto in terms of value for money. Burton's "Imprint" boot liners ... ...Burton Tribute (the very very cheap burton boot) is really quite uncomfortable after a long days riding and not that much cheaper.
If you're a beginner and looking for a cheap setup i would strongly advice investing in boots as they will make or break a day on the mountain. Pain (due to equipment malfunction) is not nice. ...
