Two days after Christmas, I was shortly due in New Zealand on 30 December on a flight from Sydney, where no beds were available. I needed to book a hostel in Christchurch to ease my worrying mind. I have a new found sense of domesticity lately and as a result I have been spending a lot of time cooking. I decided to make my own pizzas recently, and on a shopping trip to Somerfield I was on the lookout for some readymade pizza bases. They only had one brand stocked and these cost around £1.10 for two, so when I spotted the kits for making pizza dough at only 78p for two sachets, I decided to give those a go instead.
~What's included in the kit?~
The kits simply contain two sachets of dough mix, and each sachet is enough to make one 8" pizza base.
~What else do I need~
Ingredients wise, you only need to add warm water - or hand hot water to quote the box. What, exactly, qualifies as hand hot I don't know, so I just used water from the kettle that had been boiled and cooled down a bit. You will also need to have some ...

Asda Pizza Base Mix:
I love making fresh pizzas from scratch but to be honest I can't always be bothered and activating the yeast doesn't always work me so I thought I would try the Asda pizza base mix so I could whip up some fresh pizzas at a moments notice.
The mixes are really cheap at only 55p for a box that contains enough mix for two 8" pizza bases. To make the mix is easy; simply pour the mix into the bowl, (there are two individual packets), add some water, mix, knead, shape and leave to rise. The whole process only takes about 15 minutes all told. I have to say that I prefer "thin and crispy" type pizzas so these make two 10-12" bases for me. The instructions are easy to follow but they are written a little small so you need to pick the box up to read it which isn't great if your hands are already covered in dough etc!
