Advantages: Easy to use Disadvantages: Without an instruction manual or much online help i had to work out how to use it.
As a beginner to recording, i found the m-audio very easy to use. My fast track pro came without a software cd so i didn't get the ableton live software or any instructions (although i use Logic Pro with it). Even so, i worked out how to set it up and start recording my electric guitar using a lead into the fast track pro and then a vocal mic into the fast track pro so that it could be used on Logic. The quality is pretty decent and with basic experimentation of the buttons on the front it is easy to work out how to change the volume of the signal etc. The green light on eitherside of each input are very useful as they clearly show whether a signal is being received or not and a quick adjustment on the gain knob changes the level to that you desire. i would thoroughly recommend this from a beginners perspective and as i increase my ...
Advantages: cheap, reliable, portable, easy to use and intuitive Disadvantages: limited ins and outs, not a lot of leeway for input levels
The M-Audio Fast Track Pro is all round a fairly good piece of kit.
I originally bought mine as my very first audio/usb interface to use with my Macbook and Logic Pro when I first started university, 2 years ago. However, the integrated phantom power is effective, even when the unit is powered solely by USB, although the option for mains power is available, though the adapter is not included in the box. I got a universal ...
Advantages: can be used in a basic port or via a usb port Disadvantages: none
The sidewinder joy pad in my opinion is great for those fast action motoring games, but that’s not to say you can’t use it for other ones.
I use my sidewinder pad for nearly all the games I play, it’s comfortable to hold and has a button for just about everything but better yet you actually use it much like a steering wheel. Which ever way you tilt it, it moves, which is why it’s so versatile. You also have the option to turn off the movement sensor and use it directly from the cursor type buttons.
The sidewinder comes with easy to install software and a choice of connection. The cable ending plug is a standard joystick plug that can be used on just about any PC with a game or sound card, but you also get another adapter that allows you to plug into a USB socket thus freeing up other resources.
Overall it’ ...
