I have wanted one of these bags ever since I slept in one, the first time I went to a cold part of the United States. A friend of mine let me use his, as I couldn't carry too much with weight restrictions on the flight over to LAX from England. I know you are thinking, why did I need to sleep in a bag that is so thick and warm, when I was in a warm part of the USA. Will I was actually staying 8,000 feet above sea level, in the middle of Winter.

Description From The Web Site:

"Our goal with the Snowy Owl was simple: design the warmest sleeping bag in the world. Maintaining a mammoth 11-1/2 inches of loft at a constant thickness over the entire body, the Snowy Owl fulfills this goal at what is relatively speaking, an extremely light weight sleeping bag. The Snowy Owl was designed with a fully contoured shoulder, hood, and permanent collar system which maintains full and even loft in the head and shoulder areas. One of the more common heat loss regions. An inner zipper running parallel to the outer zipper keeps the differential cut at a constant thickness, combined with the double draft tubes this completely seals in the warm air. The Snowy Owl is the standard choice for expeditions on the highest mountains in the world or the most remote areas of the North and South Poles. For extended sub zero camping, we highly recommend using VBL (Vapor Barrier Lock) technologies in your expeditions. "

I have since purchased one of these bags, but had one slightly custom made. Instead of the normal length, I had a longet length bag made, with an upgradr from the usual 700+ fill power, to an upgrade of 800+ fill power .

(Also taken from their website: "Down is measured for quality by volume. The formula refers to the fill power of each ounce of down by cubic inches per ounce. For 800 fill, the minimum measurement is 800 cubic inches per one ounce of down. When we label our down, we use the symbol “+” to signify that our fill typically supercedes the minimum requirements of fill power").

This is the warmest bag I have ever tried, as well as the thickest. If I had the option of getting any other sleeping bag, then I would have to choose this bag over any other. It's totally amazing, and the hood totally surrounds the head, and forms a tunnel in which to let all your breath into, and out of. A nice thick shoulder baffle keeps the heat inside the bag, and around your body, to keep everything nice and toasty inside.

Take it from me. If there's a better bag in the world, I'd have soon known about it!!!
