My guess is that 75% of the world's cyclists have never really paid much attention to their pedals.
So long as they spin round, push the crankset in the right direction, and give you somewhere to rest your feet, they are of little interest.
Remember your first bike? Maybe you do, but you could probably not tell me what the pedals were made of, what weight they were, how much they cost, what cleat system they used, or how easy they were to service.!!
However, as bikes have become more complicated, and folk have more money to spend on personalizing them, the pedals have attracted more attention.

This wonderful little book has been around since the 1990's, I read it several years ago, and spotting it in the library on my last visit decided to give it another read.
The book describes a young girl, the summer that she was 15, but from the memories of a middle-aged woman.
I found this to be a very readable and strong novel.
I can remember back to when I first decided to read this book; giving the book a quick glance through, I was hit by the strength of the opening passage that encouraged me to choose it; in fact I wanted to stay at the library and read it there.

We have some of these yucky frogs as sensory toys. These 8cm frogs are rather cute. They have 2 eyes and a mouth which gives them a mischievous expression. These frogs come in yellow pink green and a red purple colour.
Each frog has warts lurid pink shiny warts. These warts are exposed through holes in the frog?s skin. I can?t remember now as these frogs are snowed in at work but I think there are about 6 or 8 warts per frog. The skin of the frogs is a tough rubbery material squashy and to be honest doesn?t feel that good but it?s an irresistible horrible yucky feel.
