Manufacturer's product description

The Speedplay Zero Pedal System introduces a new concept in pedal design that allows you to choose either a fixed position or up to 15 degrees of float. Zero pedals maintain the traditional feel of a fixed system while incorporating all the well-known advantages of Speedplay X Pedal Systems. Dual-sided Zero pedals offer light weight, easy engagement and disengagement, a low 11.5mm stack height and superior cornering clearance. The engagement mechanism does not rely on spring tension for retention, so you don't have to crank down a tension adjuster just to prevent inadvertent release. Best of all, you can choose either a fixed position or a microadjustable 15 degrees of float. 6/4 titanium spindles make the Titanium pedal one of the lightest pedals ever.

Review of CrankBrothers Eggbeater by  blackpuddinonnabike

Advantages: Ease of entry; Mud clearing; Float
Disadvantages: Durability of pedal and cleats

...a couple of times a year of having to renew. And the pedals themselves can suffer. Granted I put about 2000 miles into my pedals before one of them broke a prong, and even with that broken I can still attach to two sections meaning the pedal is still usable, but it's worrying that this wear could leave you stuck a long way from home. The pedal design isn't such that it's comfortable or easy to ride on if you're not attached. I've got used to these pedals. I have the chrome version on my mountain bike and daily commuter, which cost about £35, and there are versions such as titanium available as well which lighten and strengthen the pedal, but also add to the cost rather astronomically, and I feel the law of diminishing returns then comes into play. The pedal that broke will be getting replaced with the same pedal simply because I like the all... Read review

Raleigh, Getting shabby with age
Review of Raleigh Stonefly by  Hellzone

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Cheaply made

...After having my Raleigh viper stolen from my garage, i decided to claim on the insurance and get a new one. I went down to halfords and was looking around, the raleigh stonefly seemed to catch my eye with titanium frame, alloy wheels, V-brakes, front suspension, 21gears and generally a good looking mountain bike, when i got home i assembled it and then started riding it, i had been riding it for about 3 days when my pedal bent off. This to my surprise was because Raleigh had made the pedal bars with a cheap, soft metal. So i took it back to Halfords and asked for a repair or replacement, which i got. Few weeks later, riding down a hill, put on my brakes and suddenly the back wheel buckled, so once again went back and got a replacement. 2 days later, was riding again and the chain kept falling off on the front gears because...
