Spyder Xtra is one of Kingman's top of the range mechanical markers. The default trigger is mechanical but you are still able to get a rate of 5-6bps out of this marker.
By default the Xtra comes with a drop forward, expansion chamber, rear cocking, field stripable bolt, vertical loading. All them extra features which are nice for a cheap CO2 driven marker.
Excellent to handle, easy to maintain (a advantage with all blowback markers). I recommend this as a good marker for the starter into paintball who will want to play recball. This marker is not up for tournament play in stock configuration but with upgrades to barrel, bolt, air, and trigger it could probably hold its own against a Angel.
[edit: asked for more detail, so i will deliver :)]
Default Configuration:
Default configuration is basic, but covers the essential parts and layout needed for the rookie recballer.
Foregrip, handy for holding your marker, i feel it helps me keep aim better than using one hand or two hands with one under the barrel. Also this foregrip contains the Expansion Chamber.
Expansion Chamber is pritty much essential for any CO2 users, as this will stop liquid CO2 entering the marker which can damage o-rings and the internals of your marker.
Bottom Line, handy as it moves the CO2 bottle to the rear of the marker, this way it acts as a counter balance for the entire marker. One hand shooting could be very easy with this configuration.
These maybe default on many of the higher end markers, but for the Spyder range of markers they are like optional features.
Problems with the Spyder Xtra:
We have 2 Spyder Xtras here, one works perfectly but one is in a slight state of disrepair and tends to chop balls every so often. So a main problem you could say is if the maintance is not kept up to date then it will cause problems.
Also another problem is all markers arn't the same. One marker has a sticky safety button, while the other had a wobbly trigger. It seems quality of construction seems to vary between each marker, usual problems though just take a bit of time a technical knowledge about the marker to resolve.
