Advantages: speed, looks and pure surfability Disadvantages: cost, at 340 quid this is quite an expensive board
i bought a beach beat board just before xmas 2000, i ordered it through harpoon looies surf shop in afflecks palace in manchester. this board was shaped by chops lascalles himself and is a fantastic shape. it has incredible floatiness, and for someone who is the wrong side of 13 stone this board is amazing, while i am about 15 stone and only surfing mini mals for the past 3 years, i found that this model, 7 foot, gave me instant short board skills, ... ...pros do on videos for years. it has a fish tail which allows very quick turns and is easy tail slide. i love this board so much. i would advise anyone who can dont buy an off the peg board, get it made for you it makes all the difference ...

local hero boards .... shaped by graham bunt
Advantages: hand shape and personalized Disadvantages: none noticeable
...out my proffesional surf courier local hero have been the best. first of all when u ask to get a board made graham will ask u ur hight and ur wieght to make exactly the right board for u. next of he will ask u for the design. this design can be anything, u can bring in ur own design and ask him to get it done on the board. the result is absulutly stunning.
u have the pleasure of surfing ur personalized board with a hand painted design on top. the ... ...surfed have reached way above my seal of approval (which is quite high). my advise if u have just started surfing is to get a local hero board since it is so much easier to start on a board that is made for u.

My board
Advantages: light , beautiful, fast, balanced. Disadvantages: expensive, bumpy surface after first surf
I am a surfer. for those of you who don't know anything about surfing, its a way of life. its addictive, its sportive, its fun and most of the time you don't want to get out of the water no matter who is waiting outside (useualy my wife waves at me for a whole hour).
about a year and a half ago, as we were walking in central london, i desided to go in the "quik silver" shop to see whats new. as i was looking at the boards thay had, the seller came ... ...board to suit my needs (my colors, my high, my waight, and any other spesification i want) and its not that expensive (about £450).
the only thing i could do is start begging (to my wife) until finally she agreed. i had a smile of a smily face for a week. i ordered it, paid and waited patienty until it came (it took two monthes to manufacture in france) and i had to try it.
for that reason only we went to newquey and stayed in a hotel for a week ...

My nose, my nose, its broken.
Advantages: Nice when planing. Disadvantages: Nose breaks off too easily & BIC customer relations are very poor.
...sailing it with a 6.8 BIC Logic freeride sail and a 5.5 Tushingham Storm sail in winds up to force 5. It's an OK board as soon as you get it planing, its responsive and you can throw it into aggressive moves and it is quite forgiving. In winds that are not strong enough to get the board planing it is slow, it would be better to find a board with more volume for these conditions.
My major problem, with this otherwise pretty good board, is that the ... ...Wittering, UK) and they say BIC are not accepting any responsibility for what is in essense a bad design fault, worse than that, the shop owner had just come back from a windsurfing trade show where BIC retailers were asking the company what they are going to do about the problem. BIC acknowledged the fault but said they are not admitting liability and next years models are using the same nose design !

Bunty Boards r brill
Advantages: It's a good solid board. Ideal for intermediate to expert. Beautifully made. Recommend the 6'10" for Uk waves Disadvantages: None
...waves ranging from 2'+, the Bunty 6'10" is a superb board. It's smooth fast and very easy to handle. Best buy ever. If you are progressing from a mini-mal, this is definitely one of the best boards that you could buy. They are used by many top surfers including myself. Quite a rare board but if you look hard enough you may be able to get your hands on a second hand one. The value of the board stays fairly constant so if you ever want to change your ...
