Review of Circle One Wetsuits by
pannell2612
Advantages: Competative price/durable
Disadvantages: Can be quite cold in winter.
As a company circle one has a good reputation for making good quality wetsuits. My current winter wetsuit is from them and I find that it is exceptionally durable and comfortable. Some of the more expensive branded products (quicksilver, rip curl etc) do not appear to be as well made. Many of my friends have had problems with their suits coming apart at the seems but I have never had a problem with my suit or know of anybody who has. It seems your ... ...true that they arent as stylish as many other branded suits but they are definetly a good buy. As mentioned in the previous review the cheapest time to buy a wet suit is end of season (winter one end of winter) summer- end of summer.
The wet suit is five milimeters thick (summer suits are normally around three) which is about the average thickness for most winter suits. Thicker suits are of course warmer but will be more restrictive so you need ...

Review of Gul Contour 5/4/3mm Steamer Wetsuit by
pigeon1986
Advantages: Ease of movement, warm,
Disadvantages: Not for the winter,
...that even at £100 you would still be impressed. It has all the features of some of the more expensive suits but at the price of a cheap suit. And Gul is a well-known surf brand you know you are gettin a quality product.

Crusader 5/3mm titanium winter wetsuit
Review of Crusader Surfing Wetsuits by
surferjon
Advantages: Cheap, some decent features
Disadvantages: Cheap!
...the cheap, no frills options. Crusader sell direct from their website or on ebay. The ebay option works out cheaper most of the time and the delivery is pretty quick.
The suit itself is nothing special to look at; standard black with red or blue trim. There are no pre-bent elbows or knees here, just thick, standard neoprene.
Movement is restricted by this suit moreso than in a more expensive brand, but not by a great deal.
The fit isn't great, ... ...preventing cold water flushing through, Crusader also sell wrist and ankle straps to tighten these seals and make them that much better.
I have had no problems with neck rash from the rubber although I imagine souls with more sensitive skin might.
The seams are all glued and blindstiched, making them pretty much water tight, but it's all let down slightly by the back zip which lets icy cold water through like a seive. If you use this for surfing ...

Circle One wetsuits
Review of Circle One Wetsuits by
tomseear
Advantages: Keeps you warm
Disadvantages: A bit thin for winter surfing
...a very sour neck. Most Circle One longies make good summer and winter suits because they are thin enough that you will not get too hot in the summer but it is still bearable in January/ February, however it is still important to get one the right size because wearing one which is too small will restrict your movement and one which is too large will rub on your neck and chest. If you do own one which is only slightly too large and feel that you will ... ...or twice a year). A Circle One suit would be a good buy if you planed to spend a lot of time in the water and do not wand to pay too much for an overpriced trendy suit. A lot of people who surf for the image pay a lot of money to get an overpriced Quicksilver or O'Neil suit which are just as warm and often do not last as long. ...

Keep warm and snug
Review of Alder by
lucyw
Advantages: Very warm and easy to get on and off
Disadvantages: Needs to be fitted well (just like any other wetsuit)
Alder wetsuits tend to have a pretty big reputation, perhaps not as big as others, but they should do!
I used this wetsuit when surfing in Wales this May and i have to say it was great! I hired it from the local surf shop, PJ's in my size and found it almost perfect! The suit i used was a 3/2mm thickness, with a zip back, velcro on the neck, with titanium in the list of components and taped seams to promote further warmth - a must for every British ... ...from £80 and upwards for Alder full wetsuits -depending on what components they have and what thickness they are. The only recommendations i have is to not be stingy with your money and to try the wetsuit on in your size and maybe the size smaller to see which feels better and go for comfort not style! ...
