For the asking price i think this reel is hard to beat, as an angler who lives on a tight budget and top end tackle such as shimano baitrunners etc are out of reach, it looks, feels and operates like a quality item id pay double for.
The body is all metal construction and feels solid, it comes with a nice silver/graphite finish that on mine has taken the every day knocks and rattling around in the bottom of my tackle box well. The handle is a double handle, again all metal with rubberised grips, it can be used left or right handed. The bail arm has a positive action that trips over smoothly and is equiped with a free spinning line roller. The reel has either a silent anti reverse operation or a reversable option by means of a small lever on its underside.
There are two drag adjustments on the reel, one at the front that works as a standard spool drag system, its smooth and has a wide range of adjustment, from virtually free spool to solid lock up. The rear drag adjustment is by means of a rubberised knob that is smooth and turns with pleasing gentle clicks. The function of this rear drag knob is to control the amount of drag in bait feeder mode, at the flick of the bait feeder lever which feels nice and positive you can set the spool drag to whatever you like using the rear knob, i like to have it set very slack so if a big fish takes off with my bait and i wasnt watching my rod tip the reel screams in a satisfying manor to warn me im in business, As soon as you turn the reel and strike, the bait runner lever clicks into the off position and drag control is then governed by the front drag system.
The reel comes complete with two spools, a nice looking silver alloy one and a spare graphite one, both have a line clip. Line capacity is 210m/6lb, 170m/8lb and 140m/10lb. Also included is a pouch for your spare reel, and a nice touch is a spare set ot seals just in case you ever have to take it apart.
All in all its a great reel that offers great value for money and solid performance.
