Fishing - The store with more
Review of Bennetts of Shefield by jonwhite

Advantages: Mail order service, 6 months interest free credit
Disadvantages: Too far away for me just to pop in and browse

I have shopped at Bennetts for a number of years now and cannot fault them. I use their mail order service which is brilliant. Goods always arrive well protected from damage and in the unlikely event that an item is out of stock they will notify you which is sadly something not all companies do these days. I do hate being left wondering when I will get my missing items. With Bennetts you know. They will send you a catalogue upon request and then ...
...and was no longer made, Bennetts sent me a similar but more expensive rod as a replacement with an excellent covering letter. To say I was pleased would be an understatement. Postage and packing are reasonable between £2.50 & £4.50 dependant upon parcel size. You can buy everything you can think of for angling, they stock a very comprehensive range of products at very reasonable prices. If your credit is good you can arrange 6 months interest ... Avenue Angling, Norwich - The BEST
Review of Avenue Angling Fishing Tackle Shop by yackers1

Advantages: Excellent service, products, prices
Disadvantages: You'll probably spend too much money

Avenue Angling is owned by John Lambert and run by both John Lambert and Martin (don't know his surname). Avenue Angling is located up Denbeigh Road in the Golden Triangle are of Norwich. If you can't visit the shop then I know that John does mail order, Call 01603 764004 It was one of my carp fishing buddoes that got me in to Avenue Angling. The way carp fishing was going had meant that carp super markets were being opened up just like Angling ...
...will ever need and some. Avenue sells rods, reels, bivvies, rod pods, bait, clothing, foot wear, small items of tackle, alarms, bait boats, brollies etc etc. The list is endless. If you want it or need it then it will be Avenue. In the rare cases that it is not in stock then it can be ordered and will be ready and waiting for collection in a few days. All top brand names are there including Fox, Daiwa, Shimano, Giant, Leeda, Shakespeare - all of ... Read review

the small shop with big bargains.
Review of Whitby Angling Supplies by duck1979

Advantages: Prices take some beating, good quality stock, well established
Disadvantages: not much space in store

Whitby Angling Supplies has been trading in the Haggersgate / Pier Road area of Whitby (North Yorkshire) for longer than I can remember (though apparently it's over 30years), and I recall the days long ago (about mid to late 1980's, when my age had yet to hit double figures) looking in at the stuff in the window, and wanting the chain of fluorescent squid lures to try next time my Dad took me for another hopeless session off Sandsend Beach (he always ...
...more likely he was too cheap to buy the permits for going freshwater fishing instead... how the hell I stuck with the sport I'll never know). Fast forward to the present day, and that tackle shop is still there, though the window display has been largely taken over by a large selection of rods & reels (all of them at a REAL bargain price)...... and somehow I'm still fishing with a passion greater than ever, despite the fact I'm currently pretty ... Helpful Store
Review of Hingleys by cwbear

Advantages: Friendly and helpful staff
Disadvantages: None really. Although parking by the store can be difficult

My husband has used this store over the last 20 years and always found the staff to be helpful. They stock a large range of products and are always willing to do a deal. Whilst in this store you must look at the large range of carp baits. Their range of maggots and castors are always good quality. This is a store we would recommend most highly for anyone who has just started fishing. The staff will give excellent advice on the necessary equipment ... Read review

Great carp shop
Review of Sussex Tackle by jonwhite

Advantages: Mail Order, Good prices, also deal in second hand goods
Disadvantages: None

Sussex Tackle is situated at Wintons Farm, Folders Lane at Burgess Hill West Sussex and is a specialist Carp Dealer. Here you can buy from a huge range of products for the carp angler. All the top names are stocked. They have a great range of bed chairs, rods, bite alarms, rodpods, holdalls rodbags etc and all at reasonable prices. Perhaps what sets this shop out from the others is that they also deal in secondhand carp equipment. They have quite ... Read review
