Avenue Angling is located up Denbeigh Road in the Golden Triangle are of Norwich. If you can't visit the shop then I know that John does mail order, Call 01603 764004 It was one of my carp fishing buddoes that got me in to Avenue Angling. The way carp fishing was going had meant that carp super markets were being opened up just like Angling ... ...will ever need and some. Avenue sells rods, reels, bivvies, rod pods, bait, clothing, foot wear, small items of tackle, alarms, bait boats, brollies etc etc. The list is endless. If you want it or need it then it will be Avenue. In the rare cases that it is not in stock then it can be ordered and will be ready and waiting for collection in a few days. Super store Advantages: Huge stock with newly updated shop Disadvantages: None This is my local tackle shop and i have been using it for years, having now moved to ANGLSEY ROAD the new superstore is a lot better with loads of space and a huge range of products. The staff are really knowledgable and if you need some local advice, they are great on all aspects of fishing. If you are local to the area, they are worth a visit to pick up a few bargains. the small shop with big bargains. Advantages: Prices take some beating, good quality stock, well established Disadvantages: not much space in store Whitby Angling Supplies has been trading in the Haggersgate / Pier Road area of Whitby (North Yorkshire) for longer than I can remember (though apparently it's over 30years), and I recall the days long ago (about mid to late 1980's, when my age had yet to hit double figures) looking in at the stuff in the window, and wanting the chain of fluorescent squid lures to try next time my Dad took me for another hopeless session off Sandsend Beach (he always ... ...more likely he was too cheap to buy the permits for going freshwater fishing instead... how the hell I stuck with the sport I'll never know). A fair Tackle Advantages: Family run, competetive prices Disadvantages: Parking is difficult ...just what you get at Simpsons of Turnford. It is a family run tackle shop which caters for anglers of all persuasions. They have an excellent selection of products in stock and although the shop is relatively small it is very well laid out. Being a family run concern the staff are not only friendly but very helpful too. After all to stay in business they need to keep their customers and I for one go back there time after time as I much prefer the ... ...So where are they based? Turnford is near to Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, well on the way there any way. Head through Hoddesdon and aim towards the A10 and Cheshunt. There is a big roundabout with a pub on the left (for the life of me I can't recall the pubs name). Turn left here to Turnford and the shop is on the left about 50 yards down. Prices are quite competative and you can often negotiate a discount on large purchases. Helpful Store Advantages: Friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: None really. Although parking by the store can be difficult My husband has used this store over the last 20 years and always found the staff to be helpful. They stock a large range of products and are always willing to do a deal. Whilst in this store you must look at the large range of carp baits. Their range of maggots and castors are always good quality. This is a store we would recommend most highly for anyone who has just started fishing.
