TaylorMade made Nubbins Putters

...What makes any putter different from another? They are all used on the green to roll the ball into the hole aren't they? Well this range is a little different... The Taylor Made Nubbins range of putters is very distinctive in looks. They have an orange rubber insert covering the clubface (where you hit the ball) that has little 'nubs' protruding from it (a bit like lego!!). The idea behind this is that when the putter strikes the golf ball, the ball is gripped by the nubs which are incredibly soft, stays on the putter face for longer than a normal putter and then makes the ball roll much quicker after impact. This action reduces any skidding that may normally occur and promotes a great feel and roll on the green thus producing a good putt. Surprisingly the technology actually works!! ...What makes Taylormade Nubbins a great putter is, its a well balanced putter, great to use and has a great feel. I don't know the science so i'm not going to try to explain but my Taylormade nubbins bls really works for me. Ive tried a few putters in my time, putters from MD Golf, Wilson Deep Red, and a Bronty but the Taylormade exceeds all of them. The face of the putter has a 'bobbly' like face made from a soft rubber that actually makes a great contact with the ball. i found that it is nicely balanced and makes the ball go straight if you make a good through contact. Initaially i had problems with the feel and made a few bad putts, sending the ball way past and often short, but after a few rounds i got a great feel of the putter and never really missed a putt more than 2 feet, I often only had 2 putts on a green (getting to the green... As far as I am concerned Cobra in the second band of good golf Manufacturers. Behind the likes of Titleist, Nike and Taylor Made. However they have made great advances of the last few years and I fully expect more and more pros to be using the clubs of Cobra. Unfortunately, for the time being anyway, no-one will be using Cobra balls. And as such my ratings are impossible to give. I shall say average for all.... Read review
