New for 2007, the TaylorMade r7 Draw Fairway Wood (Graphite); featuring draw-weighted technology to help players square the clubface for longer, straighter shots. Features Include: Draw-weighted technology moves the centre of gravity (COG) closer to the heel, encouraging proper clubface rotation through impact to promote a draw. Wider from front-to-back and shallow clubface profile, plus lower and rearward COG for higher launch angle and spin-rate, make the TaylorMade r7 Draw Fairway Wood easy to launch high and long. RE*AX 55 soft-tipped graphite shaft encourages greater clubhead speed and a high launch-angle, for higher ball flight and longer carry with increased distance. Fitted with TaylorMade RE*AX 55 (55g) graphite shafts and TGT grips as standard. Headcover included.
Advantages: Weight movable technology Disadvantages: Not for the beginner
...It was about time that I upgraded some of my golf equipment, well it all needs to be up graded myself included. If you play the game you may know what I mean.
First up was to be a shinny new driver. I looked around for quite sometime checking out all the new stuff and finally I made my choice.
Taylormade Golf equipment was going to be the clubs for me.
The R7 Super quad was just the weapon.
I picked up the 10.5° degrees of loft with a regular shaft and I must as it was light after the old driver. But boy did it go I have been about thirty yards longer every time.
However have not always been straight but that would be me and not the club.
This club has weight movement technology which is all good fun and it works. Set the club up for a high draw and that is what you will get.
Technical Bit
The driver comes in all black...

...The secret to this driver is the TaylorMade Launch Control system which is effectively 4 little screw-in weights (2 x 10 grammes and 2 x 5 grammes) that reside in the back of the club. Based on the way the 4 weights are distributed around the back of the club will determine the shape of your shot. The beast comes with a custom wrench to unscrew the weights and a handy 'wheel' that shows you the best positions for the weights based on your swing and ability.
I have always been the kind of gut that takes a 3 Wood off the tee as my driving was always a little wayward to say the least. My game had evolved and my ability increased to the point that I needed a little extra off the tee. Last year I had the opportunity to buy the R7 and since I picked it up my driving has improved considerably. Now we all see the adverts...

...Incorperating TLC, taylormade launch control, featuring the now two screws in the sole to make the club adaptable for the player. If you draw, fade, violently slice or cream the ball this club is perfect for you. Preferred on numbers of tours around the world this club is amongst the most highly rated on the planet. Its easy to see why to be honest, from the off, personally i loved it. The ease of use, the look, feel, design, everything about this club is taylormade all over and is nothing but exceptional. The factory grip is just the right thickness, the shaft is just the right weight, the face is just right depth and width. The forgivness on those bad shots, not that there will be many off centre but on the odd occassion the shot will not be far off perfect. The beauty with this technology is that you can chop and change it around...

Picked this up nearly 3 months ago now as my third compact digital after having a kodak for my first then a canon IXUS 500 after that.
I also shoot with a Canon EOS 300d so was looking for great image quality, and a general upgrade from my IXUS.
