Advantages: Good Size, Brilliant Value, High Quality, Sturdy, Easy to Erect
Disadvantages: None that I can think of!

I purchased my Vango Venture 500 towards the end of 2006. For the bargain price of £85.00 and I haven't looked back since! Numourus camping trips have bee happily spent in this tent and it will see many more! The frame consists of 2 large poles crossing over to make the main dome, and a 3rd smaller pole creating a loop for the porch area. ...tent is now called the Vango Ventura 500. New technologies in fabric and tent design have been implemented to most of their tents, so this may be very worth looking into for the summer months. The price has stayed the same which I think is wonderful, such a bargain for what it is. We own an slightly older Vango Diablo 600 family dome tent and its probably the best investment we ever made. Recently we looked around this new model as we are looking to upgrade and the design changes they have made are excellent. For example, the addition of the side door and the extra height in the bedrooms. ...erect (2 people ideally required). The sewn in groundsheet is great for two reasons. The first being that it helps keep heat in and cold out and the second being it stops creepy crawlies joining you for company. We have used our existing tent in October in England and have not been cold ( with the help of a small heater). Time to get the tent out and make sure everything is in tiptop condition. It is Glastonbury in 4 weeks time and we use our Euro hike tent. Our tent is about 4 or 5 years old cost about £40 it is a green 2-man tent, yes it is big enough for 2 Adults and a child a bit of a squeeze but fine for a night or 2. ...which you slide into place, and an inner skin, which you fix to the outer tent with lots of toggles; this inner tent has ground sheet attached already. There are tent pegs to fix the tent to the ground to stop it blowing away. It takes me 15 minutes to put it up on my own (I timed myself last year) Less time with another. Yes it is waterproof! No small light thing this but a great family/group tent for those longer breaks. Supprisingly easy to put up - much easier than the dome we'd used previously - being a straight tunnel just means starting at the back and lifting eacg section as you move forward. Inside the bedrooms include storage pockets - essential for glasses etc when you go to bed - but if you are using air beds you will only fit three in the larger room and two in the smaller ...

I really liked this tent when my ten tors team and i first used it,after carrying it for a good 30 miles, at this point i would say it is fairly heavy but that is how you get such a sturdy tent i guess. The 1st time we put it up was on the moors and it was getting dark but as soon as we took it out of the bag it was nearly up allready!!
