I bought this tent a year ago in a sale for around £50. Normally I think it costs nearer double that. It is a 3 man tent with a domed living area and a lower sleeping area at the back. The design is very simple. There are 4 poles in total. Two long poles thread crosswise to create the dome, and then the two shorter poles form the sleeping area. The poles are obviously quite long but the sections are held together with elastic thread so they fold ...
...for example the two longer poles arc over the top of the dome and are secured by tags at each end. In other words the poles are not secured to the ground. This makes assembly very easy even for one person. Once erected the whole tent can be moved to the best position. The Coleman Savannah is a 6 person frame tent. It has an iside height of200cm high which is ample height for the average family! The tent is a kind of octagonal shape with the bedroom area taking 1 half & living area the other. We found the tent very easy to erect with colour coded steel poles which feed through from the outside of the tent, then legs attatched to lift the flysheet & place the tent in positon ready to be pegged down. Our last trip was in gale force winds & torrential rain all night yet the tent remined totall waterproof & despite the terrifying flapping of the tent fabric we stayed firmly pegged down! Disadvantages: little headroom, not good in extreme cold

A very good tent indeed. I have used this tent on many 2,3,4 and 5 day trips and it has prooved very good. It is easy to assemble with only 2 poles and can easily be done by one person in only 3-4 minutes. I have also put mine up in gale fore winds with driving rain at 2 in the morning on Dartmoor. ...numerous inside pockets and twin vestibule areas are very useful for essential kit and cookin, respectively. The tent is also very light at under 5lb it makes little impression on your pack. It also has another advantage of being used as a single sheet tent, prefect for on the beach or just as a sun shelter. Disadvantages: Quite heavy and bulky

I've had this tent for about 6 years now and it's accompanied us on many camping trips. The manufacturer states it's an 8 person tent. Personally, I think they're referring to Snow White and the Seven Dwarves here, because it's not THAT big! Myself, hubby, teenage son and 12 year old daughter fit it in quite nicely, but I wouldn't want to fit any more in after that! PROS: Nice and roomy for 4 people (wouldn't bother after that). ...when it's hot. It's withstood high winds and downpours quite nicely without any problems. CONS: We find it quite big and bulky to transport with all our other camping equipment, but to be fair, I suppose that's the drawback of buying a large(ish) tent.
