The Gelert Solo is a lightweight, 2-skin tent which is great for cyclists or walkers. It is also good for those campers who enjoy the group camping but not the sleeping in a big tent. Family Tent or Just for two?

Advantages: Good size, Weather Proof, Easy to put up
Disadvantages: Not sure enough space for whole family on a long camping trip

Me and my boyfriend got this tent for our weeks camping trip in north wales. The tent was extremely well priced, i guess because time was taken to shop around for the best price. It was just over £80 which i thought was excellent for the product you get. Gelert Solo in the field

Advantages: lightand compact/sturdy and comfortable
Disadvantages: inner pitches first

I am a regular backpacker and walker and the trade off between weight and space in a tent is perfectly balanced here. At a tad over 1kg the solo straps neatly onto the outside of most packs/bergens. The only downside is the necessity to pitch the inner tent first but putting the whole rig up takes less than 2 mins if you are against the weather. The porch was big enough for my pack and the full length insect net in the inner tent has allowed me to have a cool night in the heat of the summer. Gelert Rocky 2 - Fantastic Little Tent

Advantages: Lightweight, Easy to Erect, Great Value
Disadvantages: Porch uncovered when front door open

I bought this tent for a 2 night stay for just myself to use. I bought it from Go Outdoors for just £25 although other websites and shops sell them at a little more than this, most of them retail at around £35. First of all it comes in a neat little carry bag which took up hardly any room at all in my car!!!
