The Best in its class
Advantages: Lightweight, superior quality, large living space for its class Disadvantages: None
We have had our Hilleberg Nalo 2 GT since 2002 so feel able to write review of it after several years of use. It has been around the world with us and is every bit as good now as it was on its first use.
At the time of buying it, we had never heard of Swedish manufacturer Hilleberg until we were introduced to the Nalo GT at tent show. We were looking for a lightweight tent to replace our North Face starburst and fell in love with the Nalo. The living ... ...and Kerlon 1200 fabric that Hilleberg use for their tents. The fabric is so thin that we wondered whether it would last but it has been superb. Not even a tiny little rip in all its use. Send off for a Hilleberg catalogue (www.hilleberg.se) and they will include a sample of the Kerlon fabric so you can try and tear it for yourself. Impossible! It's a bit fatter (but shorter) when all rolled up that our last tent but this hasn't ever caused a problem.

Full exposure on the Northern Icecap
Advantages: Strong, easy to pitch, spacious Disadvantages: Price
The Hilleberg Nammatj GT 3 tent took us through every kind of terrain on our long ascent onto the ice cap. Through temperate forests, moraine, snow & ice; this tent stood up to everything the elements could possibly throw at it! 24hrs of continuous digging out scarred the Hillebergs' outer but after a few stitches and a duct tape patch up it was looking as good as new. The bright yellow glow of the inner was considered to be home for the duration ... ...for us to cook the delights of porridge, thick stodgey pancakes & curried pasta!!
If you're looking for a heavy duty tunnel tent, that will ward off even the harshest weather then this beaut would most definately be my recommendation. The £-tag maybe considered high, but you get what you pay for! 3 identical length poles, along with simultaneous pitching of both the inner & outer make this an absolute diamond. ...

Brilliant Outwell Vermont L
Advantages: Space, Durability, Comfort Disadvantages: Weight
In my opinion, this is probably the best Mid to Large tent that you could wish for. Unfortunately, as a previous reviewer wrote, it is rather heavy and although it is easy to erect it does take time as there is an awful lot of pegging down to do. However, once erected, it's like living in a palace, especially when like us, there is only my wife and I. We have weathered some quite severe storms with both wind and rain, where you felt like it was going ...

Quechua Tent
Advantages: Very Easy to put up Disadvantages: Takes a couple of goes to put it away. Easy once you know how
...easy. I also bought a Quechua blow up bed to use with it, the two together were the perfect match. I can't praise these enough I am yet to find a better make of tent. I recommend these to anyone looking for a quick and easy tent. I have also found a really good website to buy them from. www.quechua-tents.com There were so easy to buy from and I got the tent the next day with no hassle. ...

The Gelert Solo - Stubborn in the best possible manner!
Advantages: Lightweight, Small Pack Size, Durable, Attractive Design Disadvantages: Small living/ sleeping space; Flysheet not easily secured to inner; Inner-First pitching
The Gelert Solo is a lightweight, 2-skin tent which is great for cyclists or walkers. It is also good for those campers who enjoy the group camping but not the sleeping in a big tent. You can think of this as a, seperate sleeping space once all the festivities have died down. The inner-first construction can be seen as a disadvantage seeing as the inner is almost completly mesh and would get incredibly wet if you were pitching it in adverse weather ... ...apart. But, come morning, my Gelert Solo was in one piece whereas my companions Gelert Mongoose (basically the same tent just a 2-man version) had sustained damage. The groundsheet will keep dampness out from the ground, and although cnodensation is a big issue in winter, in the summer it's not so bad. One unpredicted advantage must be that the mesh inner is a great way to ease you out of a phobia of creepy-crawleys! Knowing they can't get you is ...
