Light (always) & Cheap (not always)!
Review of North Face Tadpole 23 Lightweight Tent by vasilispd

Advantages: Easy pitching, good air circulation, lightweight, DAC poles, internal pockets, reflective guylines, compression sac.
Disadvantages: The mesh door provides good air circulation but some times makes the tent too chilly.

I bought this fantastic tent just for £164.99 (the original price was £249.99) few months ago for two reasons; weight (2.2kg) and fantastic price. I used it several times at the Lakes and once in the mountain Olympos (Greece). Some pros were things like easy pitching, good air circulation, lightweight, fantastic DAC poles, internal pockets to store things like your head torch, reflective guylines (to avoid night accidents), and compression sac. However ...
...but some times that makes the tent too chilly. Once it was so windy and chilly that we finally slept with our heads at the tale of the tent and that had as result a very uncomfortable night. So, in cold weather make sure that you have a good sleeping bag (I recommend a 3-4 seasons bag). Moreover you should buy the ground sheet in order to protect your investment and also buy some extra pegs just in case because the tent is coming with the minimum ... Read review

Not just for mending tents
Review of Eurohike Nylon Repair Kit by mumsymary

Advantages: good for memding small holes and tears
Disadvantages: none

...shop and bought myself a Eurohike nylon repair kit. This kit cost me £2.99. The nylon repair kit is in a small clear plastic wallet with a card top which gives instructions for use on it . . I found this pack hanging up on a display rack a hole is punched out of the card top for easy display hanging. I finished the rest of my shopping and went home. After a cup of tea, I looked at the kit and read the instructions. In this kit were 4 different ...
...cream a brown each measuring 15cmx71/2cm. each piece of fabric has a backing paper stuck to it. I read the instructions then got my poor ripped waterproof coat. All I had to do was cut a patch big enough to cover the rip; I cut mine a bit bigger than the rip. Then I peeled of the backing paper and carefully stuck the patch over the rip on the inside of my jacket, although not really necessary I cut another small patch and stuck over the rip on ... Outwell Jersey Pop-up Tent - 2 man
Review of Outwell Jersey Pop-Up Tunnel Tent by EasyExercise.co.uk

Advantages: easy to put up, quality, size inside, price
Disadvantages: size when stored, no porch.

I already own 2 "normal" tents, but went on a 7 day bike race where i needed to put up and take down the tent 7 days in a row. I splashed out £45 for a "pop-up" tent. The thought of it errecting itself was very appealing!! Sceptical at first, I popped the tent out of it's bag and pegged it down with 4 pegs.....job done......in about 60 seconds. I couldn't believe it could be so easy!!!! Once the tent is up it is like any other, with an inner and ...
...It has vent to help reduce condensation, although some did form, but then i've never been in a tent where there was no condensation!!! The one I have is a 2 man version which accommodates 1 person + luggage with ease and would accommodate 2 people with some luggage. This tent took on some heavy rain and wind in the 7 days i was using it, with ease! My plan was to sell it after my 7 days of using it, but i'm so impressed i'm keeping it. Folding ... Read review

Tent left in ruins by moderate wind
Review of Coleman Magellan 9 Tent by JohnStrain

Advantages: Spacious
Disadvantages: Poles incapable of withstanding UK August weather, No spares, No response from Coleman

...badly. We scrapped our holiday. Coleman have not responded to emails and my local store tells me they don't hold spare parts like poles now they are made in China. Also they no longer make this tent. To start with we thought this was agreat family tent and were very happy, but this is the first time in many decades of camping in all sorts of conditions I've had a tent fail so badly and customer service is non-existant so beware! ...
