Advantages: Fresh smelling scent that lasts for quite some time. Disadvantages: Doesn't go as far as freebreeze!
the weather started getting warmer, and even though I scrub the carpet every time it happens with detergent, when the room gets warm the smell increases and it does tend to become a little acrid and takes your breath a little.
I knew there were a few products on the market for disguising the smell, I tried Febreeze but have to say this didn?t cover for very long, so when I spotted this spray and saw the clinching words?.?No vac? I purchased straight away.
The product I will now review is - ?1001 no vac carpet and upholstery freshener?
The can is white with a blue plastic cap style lid, there were two scents to choose from, if I remember correctly one was a florally scent and the one I choose being called ?gentle breeze?. I of course wanted something strong enough to cover the ammonia smell, but not so strong as to hurt Connor?s chest ...
Advantages: Freshens and fragrances Disadvantages: Scent doesnt last for very long
I didn't even realise they still sold Shake n' Vac in the shops, until I noticed my boyfriend using the product at his, when vacuuming the house. I also noticed the rooms smelt more fragrant and fresher.

In 2000 the advert polled 18th place in the Channel 4, The 100 greatest TV adverts programme.
The actual jingle from the advert is as follows: (This may jog your memory to remember the advert!)
Stale smells up here often come from down there, in your carpet.
Smells from your dog ...
Advantages: smells nice, freshens, cheap Disadvantages: doesnt last long
To be quite honest, I have always used something in addition to my hoover, to add freshness to my house. I tend to simply sprinkle fragrance oil sinto the filter of my hoover so add the fragrance to my hoover bag. I never actually found anything that would neutralise the smells which became stale within the carpet. We have all heard of companies that offer odour neutralisers. The most famous at the moment has got to be frebreeze. But to be quite honest, are they really worth the money you spend!?! Okay, so they work, and your house smells nice for a couple of days. But I always find that the smells come back. Then you do it again, then the smells come back. A week later, you have an empty bottle and have to fork out another £3.00 for some more.
I decided to try something completely old fashioned and tacky! Shake 'n' Vac. I remember ...
