Calloway Big Bertha Irons (Set)
Review of Callaway Mens Big Bertha Pro Series X-12 Irons by  StedicUK

Advantages: Good looking, nice feel to the swing, rugged construction
Disadvantages: No more excuses! Expensive to buy when new

...I purchased a set of these clubs from a friend who found that he liked a different set more. I feel it is important to point out that I am not a golf professional and know little about the design and constructon of golf clubs. I have been using these clubs for about 4 months now and I must say that I do find them rather good. While I cannot say that they have made all of my shots straight and long, they have made my game slightly better. Before using these clubs I used a very average set of clubs, so the difference is large. The irons are relatively lightweight and feature a larger "sweet spot" - the area on the club face where the ball will travel a long way. As such the back swing feels more controlled, leading to a more positive and less rushed downswing. This combined with a large sweet spot - allowing some flexibility... Read review

Wilson Fatshaft Irons- Are they the club for you??
Review of Wilson Fat Shaft Mk II Iron by  youngmj

Advantages: Reliable and easy to use for a beginner
Disadvantages: Not terribly long-hitters

...My Wilson Fatshaft Irons were the first set of clubs I ever bought just over 2 years ago. So obviously I haven't been playing golf for long and comparatively could probably still be referred to as a beginner. I was recommended this set of irons by my club pro as they were in my price range and good for beginners. The set I bought also incorprated "hybrid" clubs for extra distance in the 3 and 4 irons. ------The Head---------- The club-heads are on the hole quite non-descript. Simply saying Wilson and the iron number on the club sole and Fatshaft on the back of the head you wouldn't take a second look. The heads do offer a great deal of forgiveness on off centre shots (which I was thankful for) but reward greatly for the sweetly hitten shots as the ball flys high and straight. The cavity back on these irons also helps with distance... Read review

The First Golf Shot On The Moon
Review of Wilson Staff Progressive Irons by  the_mad_cabbie

Advantages: See opinion
Disadvantages: See opinion

...named after his birthplace was launched called “Blue Ridge”, that were to remain in production for fifty years, right up to 1988. The next year (1939) golf was revolutionised by the manufacture of a set of woods called “Strata-Bloc”, using a never before heard of process of hydraulics to bond together several different layers of wood in a criss-cross pattern. These added far more power to the tee shot, and also gave the golfer more control over direction, as well as having a far longer life span than any woods previously marketed. ~ ~ The invention for which Wilson will always be famous was also introduced in the late 1930’s. The brain-wave of Gene Sarazen, it was called the sand wedge, and was a iron with a rounded back flange to allow it to glide easily through the sand in a bunker, thus making it a far... Read review
