Advantages: Size, durability and rucksack style straps Disadvantages: Comfort if carrying for extended periods of time (> 1hr)
...- The product:
Its a bag... a big bag... a very big bag... 140L to be precise. Because of its large capacity its also large in size so those with a small body may find it hard to carry, for those vertically challenged people amongst us possibly consider the smaller 80-100L bags.
- Appearance:
The bag comes in a variety of colours (I chose a nice and boring black colour so as not to stand out too much, you could go for the yellow though...).
- Practicality:
For carrying the bag has two small handles at either end (for lifting on / off vehicles etc. only really), two standard carry straps (although you'd have to be pretty strong to carry the bag for any length of time and most importantly I think detatchable rucksack style carrying straps for carrying, well, like a rucksack!
There is one internal mesh pocket which built into the main...

Advantages: Great wind resistance and great ultralight fly and footprint only pitching Disadvantages: seamtape on the fly peeled/crumbled and inside of the fly became sticky
...I bought my Tadpole 23 in 2005. I've been camping for more than ten years and owned and used many tents, including the 1999 Tadpole model. For me this tent is emblematic of the decline of The NorthFace's quality. I used it only one time and one time alone last year. When I inspected it before an upcoming trip I found the inside of the tentfly extremely sticky and the seamtape started to crumble and peel. This didn't happen to the other two tents in my closet. I put it away clean, dry and folded neatly and I can't think of a plausible explanation for it other than that the materials were hi-tech but of inferior quality. I also had problems with two other NorthFace products i had bought along with this tent: the Patrol Pack Duo and the Venture Hyvent Jacket....

Advantages: Large lightweight, yet strong, dome-shaped family tent for 4 people Disadvantages: Zips in doorway not ideally positioned for rainy day use.
...The VaudeBase Dome 2 is a fairly large stable dome tent with two separate sleeping compartments. Two of the four poles intersect to form the central dome which is 1.9metres high. The other two poles support two separate sleeping compartments. Each one is large enough for a double airbed or two singles side by side. Either or both of these compartments can be removed for extra indoor space. It's an ideal family camping tent that's a manageable size and weight, around 9kg. With one of the sleeping compartments removed there is enough space inside to fit a small table and a couple of chairs. It's make a great luxury basecamp for two adults with lots of space for gear. For four adults space is less but still good. We use it primarily as a summer basecamp tent for climbing trips to the european alps (usually hot...
