My safari base camp

Advantages: courteous and helpful staff, close to Joe's Beer House,
Disadvantages: Internet is very slow!

During my recent trip to Southern Africa, which took in a trip to Namibia, I was recommended the Roof of Africa by the company that organised my trip around the Sossusvlei. I wanted to stay somewhere comfortable, and the Roof of Africa was, they assured me a very comfortable place to stay. And for my needs for the two nights (either end of my safari) it was. I expect I got a discounted rate since it was booked through the tour group and I paid NAD 590 (approx GBP 50) per night including breakfast. I headed to the hotel straight from the airport by taxi - I could have ordered a taxi collection service from them but decided not to. The hotel is a little way out of the centre of Windhoek, although fortunately only a stone's through away from Joe's Beer House. Whilst it is generally not recommended in most of Sub-Saharan Africa to walk ...

Everest Base Camp Trek

Advantages: Scenery, local people, remote, sense of achievement
Disadvantages: Altitude

The opportunity to see Mount Everest is a wonderful thing, add on to this experiencing the culture of Nepal and the sherpa people as well as walking through breathtaking scenery, then this is a trip I can recommend to anyone. I went on an organised camping trek in 1999 with Exodus who are based in London. Local porters carry your bags and take responsibility of camp and food. They carry unbelievable amounts of weight, but this is their job and are paid well, although it is not much by western standards. However, they are very friendly and love life every day, a genuine smile is greeted by each one. The trek itself is fantastic, we went via Gokyo lakes which is still quite remote and feels wild. The altitude is easily noticeable, my advice is to walk slow and not to get out of breath, and this way the body can adjust with out being ...

* Let's Rock At Camp! *

Advantages: Teens will like it!
Disadvantages: Does'nt Feature much of the Jonas Bros!

Musical (more on that later!). The Jonas Brothers weren't as anoying as I had imagined them to be ; yes the one had a very 'cocky' part , but they were playing characters , and so I didn't mind them too much! I will be looking out for them in the future! This movie followed High School Musical and so there was always going to be a comparison between the two! There was always going to be the question of 'which one's the best?' and so I will answer the big question! I am a High School Musical fan and so I am quite loyal to the 'brand' having watched and enjoyed the movie several times. Both films are based around music , however Camp Rock isn't exactly a musical like HSM. With HSM I sometimes found that the cast 'burst into song' at any moment , just so that they could say 'yes this movie has songs , so it's a musical' and so at times it ...
