Advantages: wireless device included. Blu- Ray disc Disadvantages: Lack of USB ports.
The Sony Playstation PS3 is a brilliant console for people who like Fast, action packed games. However, it does have a good variety of games for the younger generation. The PS3 games tend to look magnificent on a HD Tv. The sound and graphics are devine. In my opinion I thinj that the PS3 is one of the best consoles I have had in my household. It is a console that looks new and looks as though it will remain new. However, if you have the 80 Gb console, there is a lack of USB ports, which is a dissapointment if you have 4 controllers that are all low on battery. However, I believe they have a special device where you can charge your controllers. Another good thing about this console is the wireless device. Whereas on Xbox 360, you have to purchase a wireless adapter separately. It also has a in-builot Blu-Ray DVD, which can save hundreds ...
Advantages: Reasonable Price Disadvantages: Rather large if backpacking
Last summer I embarked on a 100 mile highland hike, carrying my equipment in a 75ltre capacity rucksack. We aimed to complete the expedition in 5 days. I felt that my current carry-mat was unsuitable as it was farily large and made from foam. I was recommended a thermarest by my friends, and tried theres before purchasing my own.
I was impressed by the thermarest brand. They make really good quality equipment. I was faced with the choice of whether to go for the "ProLite" mattress from the "fast and light series" or the "Expedition" from "the trek and travel" series. I decided, that as I was on a student budet to go for the "Expedition".
I bought the full length version as I am around 6ft. Perhaps going for regular would have been more advantageuous but if you really want to save on weight and size- chose "Prolite ...
Advantages: Blu-ray, free online, nice extras like vidzone & iplayer. Almost silent operation Disadvantages: Rubbish controller, still expensive, online nowhere near as good as xbox live
,it'll give you 7.1 loss-less audio through an HDMI, so I wont get the full effect til I up-grade my amp, still running on 5.1 through an optical cable, which is fine, it was a while before I figured out how to get 5.1, set the system to use optical, but my amp was only registering the sound as pro-logic II, eventually found that I needed to change another setting from 'linear PCM' to 'bitstream', which the system advised me not to do!
Games-Lets face it, this is the most important factor in why we part with our cash! Sorry, but the system get's second prize in this contest, the 360 takes the crown here. I mainly play FPS games these days, altho driving games, fifa, guitar hero, tomb raider(I got hooked on the 1st 1 & have had to play them all) & beat-em-ups do get a regular outting. The reason I had held off getting a PS3 so long, was that almost ...
