Advantages: ultra comfort without a bed Disadvantages: punctures
...Sleeping on the ground is never going to be quite the same as a comfy bed but as a frequent camper and trekker the Therm-a-Rest Ultralite is the only choice for me. The great thing about the Ultralite is that it is exactly what it says it is - light - and also takes up surprisingly little space. A good night's rest means a lot to me when I'm walking all day long and if you are about to go travelling or just off for a week's relaxation, then this really is worth it. It's not that cheap, when you compare it to a basic mat that you can pick up for about £7, but the Thermarest will last you for years if you look after it. ...This is the ultimate camping mat.
When i first set my eyes on this product i was sceptical about the price. I had seen foam mats for £10, and seeing this for £60 i couldnt imagine myself buying one. But i did, and i have never looked back!

Advantages: Comfort & warmth in a field!! Disadvantages: About 10x price of cheap mat but worth it!

Top tip, don't blow em up too hard (yes they are largely self inflating!) as this makes them harder to stay on.
Don't worry if you puncture, repair kits are readily available!
There is a chair kit availble for these (sit in it as well as sleep on it!) & a joining kit for those looking for the double bed option! (requires 2 thermarests)....
