Timex Group is the parent of Timex Group USA, Inc. It is situated in Middlebury, Connecticut where it began in 1854 and was known during the nineteenth century as the "Sister company Waterbury Watch". The company made their very first watch in 1880. In 1933 they made the very first Mickey Mouse clock where Mickey's hand pointed the time. They made history by being the first company to actually make a Mickey Mouse clock and I am so glad that they did. I love Mickey Mouse and nowadays there are Mickey Mouse watches and clocks galore.
It was in 1879 that the company first created the wristwatch named Timex for the UK market place. Many stores stock Timex watches and you can also purchase them online. They are high quality watches that are available at affordable prices and the company has a wealth of experience.
Timex is an authorised watch dealer selling ladies and men's sports, casual, classic and formal watches. All of their watches are stylish and offer something for everyone. The Timex Expedition range of watches is where the Timex Expedition E-Tide-Temp-Compass watch that I am reviewing fits in. The Timex Expedition range of watches make the most out of your outdoor experience providing a range of watches with a timeless design and advanced features. If you are thinking of taking up a new outdoor pursuit then you will need a watch and compass that doesn't let you down.
Timex have their own website at, http://www.timex.co.uk/ and looking on this website provides you with a larger selection of watches compared with looking at other websites and in store. Today we are spoilt for choice with watches and clocks so how do you choose the right one for you?
This watch comes with an in built electric compass that will help whilst on your travels. If you get lost then you need to find the right way quickly before you enter dangerous land. The compass though not 100% reliable at all times is a good standard. Unfortunately I don't have much joy with compasses, but my husband is always handy if we get lost.
This watch is well built and made out of titanium which means that it is resilient and weighs less. The watch has never let us down yet and although the compass can be a bit temperamental the watch never lets us down.
The watch has the ability to tell the time, date (Quick Date) and has an electronic compass. The case is titanium with a bi-directional rotation bezel. It is suitable for a man and is 42mm diameter and 13mm thick. I bought this for my husband at Christmas as he hasn't had a decent watch for a while and he loves it. Its dial is cream white with black detail quite a few people have mentioned how nice the watch is.
It has a Timex Indiglo night light and forth hand compass needle. Its strap is genuine brown leather with a titanium buckle. It is water resistant up to 100 meters. This watch has even survived a spin in the washing machine. This was not to test whether it is water proof but, my husband accidentally left it in his pocket. Every Timex watch also comes with a one year Timex warranty. The watch hasn't died yet and is still going strong. I cannot see there being any reason for us to use the warranty.
The Timex Expedition E-Compass stainless steel watch allows you to keep your bearings while out and about. This is especially good for walkers or indeed any outdoor adventurer. I know of a few people who use this watch when they go camping. My husband wears this watch all the time not just when we go on outdoor pursuits but, for everyday use.
I love the way the watch is designed it has a rugged outdoor look. The compass though not always reliable uses an electronically controlled needle to keep direction. The compass also has an internal declination adjustment. The analog display shows your current bearing and cardinal points. It also has a military time scale included on the face. The compass is easy to use just like the watch is.
The clock has a date window at the at the 4 o'clock position, it has INDIGLOŽ back light, luminous hands and hour marks that make it easier to see at night. This is especially good if you are camping and don't want to scramble to find the torch to see what time it is in the darkness of night.
The watch has a unique blend of style and technology that makes this a watch to beat. For the price of around 72.99GBP you will struggle to find a better watch for the price. The watch looks very stylish and can be worn with many types of clothing. It goes with almost any colour and looks especially good with sports gear. When we have our outdoor clothing on this watch looks the part.
In compass mode you have a 20-second 'time out' with a 2-way directional turning ring. In compass mode red points North. The temperature mode is pretty handy in degrees celsius and degrees farenheit. This is accurate and has not failed yet. The battery that you will need is CR2016 and has a life of three years.
This watch is a perfect gift for your loved one. My husband was delighted with this watch and so am I. Considering the price it doesn't compromise in quality. It is fantastic for a night out or on an adventure holiday. If your weekend includes going fishing, cycling, water sports, mountaineering or any type of outdoor activity this watch will be useful to you.
Before you use the watch you must make sure to accurately calibrate the compass. In fact, this is where many people get disappointed and think that it is the compass that is letting them down. You will find the calibration process described in the instruction booklet that comes with the watch. The instruction booklet is very useful and tells you everything that you need to know about the watch. I love the way this watch is adjustable, comfortable, durable, provides a great fit and is also affordable. It is not a difficult watch to work out and anything you want to know you can read about in the instruction booklet.
I have been really impressed with the performance of Timex Titanium.

A unique combination of style and technology, the E-instruments collection provides you with the watch you need to enhance your lifestyle. At the press of a button, the E-Tide-Temp-Compass watch transforms from an elegant timepiece to a marvel of advanced technology. Inside the stainless steel case lies miniaturised sensors that, when activated, employ a dedicated fourth hand to indicate the temperature, tide or north.
