My handicap is 7 and I play on a seaside course in Devon England, I say this to give you a baseline for comparison reasons.

As soon as I saw the 983 Series I knew I had to have one. These are such good looking clubs.

Tried 983K and 983 E eventually settled on 983E with 9.5 loft Grafalloy stiff shaft.

983E
First time on course I was absolutely stunned by this club. Amazing ball flight and markedly longer than my previous driver a Titleist 975J. Perhaps by an average of 15 yards.

The ball flight is a low rainbow shape. The club sets up to the ball very easily but does require a high tee peg. I find that setting the ball up further forward i.e almost off your toe increases length and promotes accuracy.

I was sceptical of the Graffalloy shaft as I am not a fan of light shafts. This doubt was eventually proven correct, (I gave it 7 months). I like to hit the ball hard( I am 6'4 and 1about 16st) and I found that any attempt to really "nail" the ball hard was penalised with a fair drop in accuracy. Eventually cured this by fitting an EI70 shaft,no loss of length due to heavier shaft possibly a bit longer on average due to increased accuracy.

983K
My son (Age 13 H'cap 6) was looking foer a new driver at the same time as me but went for a Taylor made 580. Eventually fell out with this as it was too inconsistentr for him. He traded this in for a 983K 8.5 with a Speeder stiff shaft. Hits this club very well. When I tried it I found that overall oit was probably as long as my E but the ball flight was much higher. Again I know all the theories but for me playing in a lot of wind the ball flies just a bit too high with a tendency to ballon in to wind. Downwind of course is a different story but then you start to lose cotrol of distance. Still a great club though.
