Srixon I-302 Forged Irons

Advantages: Look great and ball feels great of the clubface
Disadvantages: Price is quite high

I purchased a set of these irons last March after having my old set for about 10 years. Tried out 4 or 5 other top brand makes, but these felt the most comfortable and gave the best feel. It is easy to shape the ball with these clubs and they give a very nice flight to the ball. I would say these clubs are also good for high handicap golfers, but would probably recommend the Srixon I-402 for them. The I-302's are very durable. I have the regular shaft. I found the stiff shaft to be very stiff and as such was very easy to push the ball right. They are fairly expensive, but for a mid to low handicap golfer like myself looking to get into single figures, these are well worth the price. Titleist DCI 962

Advantages: Great Value at under £500
Disadvantages: Not for high handicappers

I have been the proud owner of a set of Titleist DCI 962s for two years now. Having been advised by a friend that these were the best clubs on the market I now believe this to be true. The DCI 962 is a superb set of clubs designed for the mid to low handicapped golfer. The clubs are based on the bladed clubs of yesteryear accompanied by the modern perimeter weighted clubs of today. Each club, from the three iron to the sand wedge, is a wonderfully crafted club for the serious golfer. These clubs have helped me to reduce my handicap by a couple of strokes. I bought the clubs with a handicap of 11. Soon after using them to good effect I won two club competitions back to back and got my handicap down to single figures. This must be partially due to the wonderful set I use. The sweet spot is not as large as it’s ...
