Titleist Pinnacle Lake Balls - Grade A

It is blessed with the same colour as those yellowish striped visibility jackets worn by police, builders and increasingly by young children walking to school with their mummies, at least where I live. (Essex) Hang on, it's that special high-visibility yellow? This must be revolutionary. A golf ball looking like a tennis ball? There must be a rule about this. They're probably making one now. On it it says: "Pinnacle 3" (turn around) "Gold~Distance" (Whatever that means) and (turn around) Pinnacle 3 again. (Eyes stop spinning) I don't actually see how this ball can go any further than the rest, considering they all have to weigh within 3 grams of the standard weight. ...Having taken up golf in the last year i've lost (and found) alot of golf balls on the local fairways as you might expect, most of these balls are then hit and lost again for someone else to find and so the cycle continues. That was at least until i slowly showed signs of improvement and treated myself to a sleeve (pack of 3) of Titleist NXT tour golf balls from my local pro shop for £4.99, i must admit i wasnt keen to part with almost a fiver for 3 golf balls but you know the way it is... better equipment will make me a better player right? well funnily enough it may have helped a little. So what is so special about the NXT tour series of ball? ...I have been playing golf for 15 years and always play with a Titleist ball. It's something of a habit, but the ball suits my game. In cold wet conditions I'll play with the pts wound ball, and in dry summer conditions the professional balata. That was until I tried the newest product from Titleist, the pro V1. It is the tour professionals choice of ball combining both distance and feel.It is longer off the tee than the balata ball but gets enormous spin around the green. I'm not sure how Titleist have done it, but I was amazed at the extra length I got off the tee and the control and spin I got around the green. Putting with it is a dream, the ball doesn't fly off the putter like the wound ball. At the moment the cost of the ball will put off all but the most accomplished golfer, at £35 a dozen you don't really want to 'lose' a ball... Read review
