Tog 24 Bergen Milatex Gloves

So this was the other bit of kit I needed along with the Stealth jakcet and Snowcap trousers. Again it was from the Tog24 factory shop (www.tog24.com)

These were one of the first pairs I picked up and were priced at £15. There was a similar pair in the bargain bin ...
...the cuffs and the restiching required may have ruined the waterproofing - so decided to go for the ones on the rack..

The Tog24 website says you can get these in Black or Baby Blue, but the ones I bought were Olive so maybe these are a new colour or a discontinued one (or maybe they made a mistake on the website). Not a problem though, they'll do the job no matter what the colour.

As mentioned above, the gloves are waterproof. They are also windproof and breathable. You can feel the good insulation working as sson as you put them on, as the inside of the glove quickly warms up to keep your hands and fingers toasty.

The gloves are clipped togther when you get them, and this clip is pretty handy as you can reuse it and clip them back together when not in use. Then you won't lose one of the gloves, making the other all but useless (unless you like to snowboard in a Michael Jackson stylee with one glove on - I'd like to see anyone try to moonwalk back up a snowslope).

They have a adjustable strap on the back of the wrist, which can be easily tightened and loosened while you are wearing the other glove. The wrist also has an elasticated cuff, Then the end of the wrist has a second elastic which you can tighten by way of a drawstring and toggle. Again this is easily done with the other gloved hand.
They didn't cause me any problems when fiddling with the straps while attaching myself to the board, but the bindings are designed to be used with gloved hands. So the gloves are going to restrict your hand dexterity, but not enough for anything that you would need your hands for when skiing/boarding anyway

The palm is ribbed to give it a larger surface area for better grip.

Like the jacket and trousers I bought at the same time. They kept my hands warm throughout the session, without getting soacked from sweat or being uncomfortable.

All in all I'm very happy with all three items of clothing, they all come with the Tog24 guarantee if anything goes wrong with them. All the items I have are designed with skiing or boarding in mind. So with this I don't expect them to wear out quickly.

(Just a point of note though- If you are reading this review after reading any of my other reviews - from a motorcyclists point of view, don't be tempted to buy these gloves to ride in winter, Yes they will probably keep your hands warm, but I would not expect them to stand up for very long being slid down tarmac at even low speeds).
