Those of you who kindly read and rate my opinions will know by now I am on a diet (I have lost about fifty stones on and off over the years) I have had a treadmill for a couple of years now but found it a bit heavy going on my knees. I am in my senior years now (so they tell me LOL)

I watch the shopping channels on sky and I have seen TONY LITTLE and the Gazelle Platinum Freestyle advertised often .It is usually about £130 plus p&p

I always thought this was a bit expensive for me as none of us are employed and we have to watch the pennies

I was watching QVC a couple of weeks ago and they had on a special offer Yes! The Gazelle Platinum With a video and for only £110. plus p&p I though t about it and discussed it with Jim my hubby ,then I sent away for it and within about five days it arrived

It is really heavy but it takes up to about 20stone so it would have to be sturdy

Jim and I set it up in the spare room. We had to build some of it ourselves and when we were finished we realized we had the wheels for moving it about round the wrong way. Never mind a wee while later and I was ready to go

You have to be very careful getting on as there are two swinging paddles you put your feet on they look a bit like skis they are hung on wires, which are used on Aeroplanes

There are handles on the top and when you step on the paddles you hold onto the handles and swing back and forth. It is the best exercise I have ever done. It is almost impact free and hardly makes any noise at all

I stand it ain front of the computer when Ross is on doing his own thing I go on the glider.

Ross puts on some fast music and I find it really easy to swing in time. I have only had it for just over a week and I can burn off 100 calories in 40 minutes no problem
When I used the treadmill I could do 40 minutes but I was completely knackered at the end of it and really had to force myself to go back on the next day.

It’s really fun to do and as it is quiet you can chat away as you are doing it and don’t notice how many calories you are burning

It gives you a full body workout arms/ legs/ bum/ tum .

It has a water bottle with room for your remote control on it. It has an on board computer that tells you speed/distance/auto scan/time/odometer and how many calories you have burned off. If you are the only person using it you can just leave it and it will keep on counting the calories burned off for you.

It also has a pulse rate feature, which is really great. It displays your heart rate; there is also an instruction book, which explains everything.

One other thing I must tell you about
I was watching the instruction Video on Friday and forgot to take it out of the VCR and Jim had taped home and away over it, as the wee tab hadn’t been removed. I thought this should always be done on a pre-recorded video, so I phoned QVC and explained. The girl was really nice and said she would see about it for me so I will let you all know what happens.

I have lost 17lbs so far and I am enjoying it so much I don’t think it’s hard work if you enjoy whatever exercise you do.

I rate the Gazelle Platinum 10 out of 10

UPDATE

I got a letter this morning saying they could not get in touch with me by phone( I was probably talking to you all here) and would I phone the freephone no ASAP . The very friendly opperator told me they were sorry there had been a problem and a replacement video was on it's way ....three cheers for QVC .. Now there's a great idea for another Opinion

Exercise it that wise
Yes! it really is
Fat bits here and fat bits there
I'm getting in a tiz
Wee and fat I can't have that
What then can I do
I'll go and by a glider
And i'll be slim like you

Wow, we are so alike! I have had this for 2 weeks now and i do my workout infront of my PC and also play fast music to get with the beat - creating a better workout! I love it, it really works the inner thighs. Great review, Gareth xx

Sounds a lot more fun than my elliptical cycle! I was toying with the idea of getting this - but Tony Little seemed to be having too much fun to actually make it look as though he was working out - so I decided against. Oh well, we live (or read) and learn!

I do like Tony Little whenever he appeared on QVC. I prefer being fat as I am happier that way. I would rather eat chocolate than work out. I have never been to a gym in my life...Paul
