MAGLITE SOLITAIRE
Advantages: Very compact, robust, reliable and surprisingly powerful for its size. Disadvantages: Expensive full price, but there are lots of reduced ones if you look.
I bought a standard black version from a DIY store reduced to £4 and for that money it's fantastic. Still very good value at full price. Exceptional light beam for such a small torch with 1xAAA battery.
I got it because it fits in the pen holder pockets on some of my clothes perfectly, so it's always there when I need it and it's well protected.
Just one thing, I would advise anyone who gets one to adhere to the instructions regarding vaseline ...

A Superb Little Torch!
Advantages: Waterproof, shockproof, great design, bright Disadvantages: None!
I bought my maglite a couple of years ago. Since I do quite a lot of camping and going to music festivals, I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a good torch to see me through my camping adventures!
The maglite comes in a black plastic protective case. The case is rectangular in shape, it is about 17cm in length and 10cm in breadth and probably about 3cm thick. It has 'Mini Maglite' written across the front of it. This opens up to reveal ... ...instructions that come with the maglite are detailed and easy to follow and tell you everything you need to know (though really putting batteries in a torch and turning it on doesn't require too much reading!) The warrantee is also included in the instructions.
The maglite is not too heavy, being made of aluminium, and is easy to carry around therefore making it a great camping accessory. The bottom of the maglite screws open so that you can put ...

Petzl Tac Tikka Head Torch
Advantages: Robust, easy to use and good light Disadvantages: none
There are so many torches out there at a cheaper price offering the same features so they say. However having owned some other brands that claim to be as good, i found that they often broke, were of poor build quality and were not as bright as the ac Tikka Head Torch.
This head torch is of excellent quality, both build quality and light quality. It is easy to operate and its 4 LED's provide bright light where ever it is needed. It is also extremely ...

Let there be light
Advantages: Easy to use, no batteries, fun Disadvantages: expensive, heavy,
...may be new to the Freeplay concept so it's worth going into a little detail here. Freeplay products are basically electronic devices that run on kinaesthetic enegy. What this means is that they require nothing more than your body power to generate electricity. This torch is charged by winding a krank (a handle) quickly for extended periods of time. This then generates electricity which is stored within the body of the torch. The torch has a handy ... ...I reach for my trusty freeplay torch, but oh dear, it's gone flat! Winding it is almost definitely going to wake my tent-mate, but trying to find that tree in the dark is just too difficult...
And, last but not least- the price. When last I checked, this torch clocked in at a healthy £29.99- pretty expensive for a torch! However, in its defence- you're going to save money on both batteries and replacement bulbs, so if you you're a frequent camper ...

MAGLITE 3D Flashlight - Damn good, impressive, durable and worth
Advantages: Durable, long battery life, sleek Disadvantages: comparatively heavy
I saw a maglite torch with a friend who had come to my farm. I knew that I had to have one of my own. I bought the 3D in Pune and am very happy and satisfied with its performance.. Its a good buy and extremely useful on long treks or night time camping and adventure apart from general utility tasks. It has a powerful beam and good focus with an awesome range. We also use it sometimes to pinpoint the location of a star or constellation. In my opinion, ...
