I have owned the Total Gym 1000, for about a year now. The reason why, is because I was channel shopping, and it looked good. It caught my eye, so I watched the programme, and then decided that for £150, you couldn't go wrong. I am a little impulsive like that.

You can do all sorts of exercises on it, so why bother paying to go to a gym, and use lots of machines, when this one does it all?

********************SETTING UP***********************

The setting up of this machine, is not terribly difficult, but it is a little tricky. Basically it all folds out, and fixes together, with really pick metal clips.

On removing it from the box, it is all flat packed. You need to take the sliding board aways, while you set up the frame. Then attatch the sliding board, on it's rollers.

It is quite difficult to explain, but it is fairly simple if you know what you are doing. It is one of those things, that once you have set it up once, you will always know how to do it.

********************ABOUT THE GYM******************** This home gym, allows you to do a multiple amount of exercises. This means you can work on lots of areas. the areas you can work on are:
  • Leg work, thigh work, calf work
  • Arm work, triceps biceps
  • Bottom work, hip work
  • Shoulder work
  • Upper and lower back work
  • Chest work
  • Abdominal work

The manuals that you get with it, are very useful. They use plain, understandable english. The set up instructions are very easy to follow. I managed it first time. You also get an exercise booklet. This provides

*Program routines, for beginners, intermediates and advance workouts.

*Basic fitness instructions

*Circuit training for men and women

*Information on movement

In the workout booklet, they provide diagrams of all the exercises that you can do, and it explains how to do them, properly. There are a wide variety of exercises for men and women, and I liked this.

**********************MY OPINION*********************

Firstly, I would like to state, that I found it a workout in its self, just trying to set it up. I didn't realise it was going to be so heavy. I am only 5 foot 2. When it is stood up, on it's end, it is a little bigger than me. I struggled on, and after about 20 mins of puffing and panting, I was ready to go.

This machine provides all you need to get fit. I wouldn't say, it is for the serious people out there, but for those wanting to tone up, get fit and stay fit, this is the machine for you. It really does work. The workouts can be as demanding as you make them, and you will ache in places that you didn't know you had. If you stick to a regular routine, then the aches will dissapear, and you will see a difference.

It is an easy machine to use, and you can easily work up a sweat. It is excellent value for money .

*************************Tips************************

Set it up in the room, where you want it. It saves having to pack it away and move it later. I had to and it was quite a hassle.

It doesn't look that big, or heavy on the telly, but it is. It was a lot bigger and heavier, than I anticipated. Saying that, when set up, it will fit in an ordinary sized room or bedroom.

I haven't seen this for sale, except on the television shopping channels. I bought mine from QVC, but it is available through, ideal world and home shopping. All chanels are asking the same price. £150.

There is another, that has been made, and being sold on these chanels aswell, and that is the Total Gym 2000.

Thank you for reading.
