Girlfriend was getting back ache after riding a small version of a male bike, so i bought her one for her birthday...no more back ache.
Specific for ladies in the way that,
1. Small brake leavers 2. Larger saddle 3. Shorter top tube 4. Softer suspension fork
Ther are probably loads more changes compared to the normal 4900, but these are the obvious ones. As a package though it works well, and is pretty comfortable to ride. Plush forks (low stiction), sensible gearing and a nice ladies saddle to protect the soft bits!
You pay a premium though for such attention to detail. Yes you pay the same as the male version, but you get downgraded gears, cassette, hubs and chainrings. Bit tight if you ask me, are the ladies being taken advantage of in the way that they might not know the difference between the Deore and LX range? NIce colours though, which is what ladies normally go for.
