Trek Fuel 80

Advantages: good all round performance
Disadvantages: slighly heavy

sometimes forget to turn it back and find myself going downhill without any damping! The BAR 2.1 is also the same in allowing you to vary the reboud adjustment. Ride and handling are solid and the bike has shrugged off the odd crash with no problems. The Shimano Deore hydraulic brakes work well and give lots of control is these situations!. The only slight problem I've had was the front derailleur in pushing the chain across to the big chainring, but managed to fix this after a bit of fiddling. For the future, I'll probably upgrade the cranks to XT (being lighter and more smoother than the Shimano M440 fitted) and also the forks to 120mm travel. (The higher spec Fuel 90 has the RockShox Recon 351 U-Turn which is 85-130mm, so I know my frame can take the change) All in all a good bike, especially if you can find it cheap as I did ...

Arguably, it was the 'great' Lance Armstrong who raised the profile of the Trek brand within the road racing community. In 1997 Lance Armstrong was dropped from his European cycling team after being diagnosed with cancer. What a mistake that was?. Lance Armstrong joined forces with Trek and In 1999 became the first American on an American bike riding for the American team to win the Tour De France. Lance's popularity was so great that the bike developed for the American team, the OCLV carbon 5200, became ...

Review of Trek 1200

Ultimate fuel works in practice.

Advantages: Widely available. Excellent value for money. Kinder to the environment.
Disadvantages: Looks expensive, not all garages stock Ultimate diesel.

With apologies to the expert who wrote superbly on "true" alternative fuels in this category, I'd like to recall my experiences using BP Ultimate fuel over the last 15 months. You may offer an argument that petrol and diesel, however brewed don't qualify as "alternative fuels" and yes I'd agree with you. However we are in the real world here, most of us who drive have to fill our cars with petrol, diesel or, in the case of an increasingly large minority, LPG (Liquid Petrolium Gas). Like the government energy adverts say what difference does one person make? From my own experiences using initially BP's Ultimate Unleaded petrol, latterly Ultimate Diesel I can tell you that we would all be capable now of making a difference - most importantly at no cost financially to ourselves. For me with two very diverse cars, this fuel has ...
