Advantages: Comfortable, plush ride, sensible gearing Disadvantages: Price, low spec group set
...Girlfriend was getting back ache after riding a small version of a male bike, so i bought her one for her birthday...no more back ache.
Specific for ladies in the way that,
1. Small brake leavers
2. Larger saddle
3. Shorter top tube
4. Softer suspension fork
Ther are probably loads more changes compared to the normal 4900, but these are the obvious ones. As a package though it works well, and is pretty comfortable to ride. Plush forks (low stiction), sensible gearing and a nice ladies saddle to protect the soft bits!
You pay a premium though for such attention to detail. Yes you pay the same as the male version, but you get downgraded gears, cassette, hubs and chainrings. Bit tight if you ask me, are the ladies being taken advantage of in the way that they might not know the difference between the Deore and LX range? NIce colours...

Advantages: Good re-introduction to road bikes Disadvantages: expense and pedals
...her Istanbul to London lone cycle, she began planning an idiotic cycle around the coastline of India.
Once that plan came to fruition at the start of this year, it was clear that any hint she gave of future cycling plans, should be taken seriously.

Advantages: Good price, Good looking frame, Smooth disc brakes Disadvantages: Front Suspension Fork is very poor, esp for off road use
...from mountaining biking for a long time, thinking they could hammer this offroad, no chance............
Everything else on the Trek is of good standard within this price range, it has a nice looking sliver/black frame, no fancy colours which I think looks silly on most bikes, the mechanical disc brakes are really smooth and easy to ajust, I ve had no problems in the time I ve had the bike, the only thing I changed right away on the bike was the pedals, I use click in pedals which require shoes, It adds to the smoothness of road use.
If you really like the bike and are tending to use offroad quite a look, you ll need to change the front fork on purchasetrek dealer to do, its easier> the fork does not have enough travel and will break on even the smallest drops.
Bike sizes come in 13, 16, 18, 19.5, 21" in the mens sizes and 16...
